Hi Everyone, it's been awhile

Post by XandraS »

Hi Everyone,

I used to be a more regular feature on this forum, but I lost my stitchy bug for a few years (can't believe it's been about 3 years since I last posted a stitchy update). I've stitched a few things in the last 3 years, and I've still been buying lots of stash (it's totally an addiction), but it's only in the last few weeks that I've felt the urge to stitch again.
I remembered how great this community is, and I miss all the encuragement and inspiration, so here I am again.

Here is a little recap on me: I'm 32 yrs old and live the south of England. I'm married to a scouser and I'm originally from Norway. I like to stitch different things, and try out specialty stitches as well as just stitching with pure crossstitch. I have a several WIP (although since they haven't been touched in 3 years I think they qualify as UFOs at this point), and I love hand dyed fabrics and threads.

I'm looking forward to reconnecting with old members and getting to know the newer ones

xx

 Welcome back! Glad to hear that you are well and that your stitchy bug has found its way home and you have found your way back here. Looking forward to your updates. Are you working on UFO's or starting fresh? After 3 years do you find that your tastes in projects has changed a lot?

Welcome back. So, what are you going to be working on? I agree that stash accumulation is an addiction...and it gives us something to do when our stitchy bug is on vacation.

(I had to Google 'scouser' - I learn so much here, and not just stitchy stuff. This is such an educational forum. :) )

Hi Carole, nice to see you again. I haven't started anything new yet, although I have a few lined up so will probably start them in the next couple of weeks. I've just finished one of my UFOs LHN's A Stitcher's Heart, and I'm currently working on Lizzie*Kate's Summer Alphabet. The UFO's I'm most keen on working on are my Chatelaine, The Great Escape and my Joan Elliott Victorian lady. I had a HAED that I've completely gotten rid of, just had no need or want to stitch that at all. I have another HAED completely kitted up, which I doubt I'll ever stitch but at least I still like the subject matter. Other than that though I still love all my UFOs and the only problem I'm having is that I started Summer Alphabet on 40ct linen and my eyes arent't too keen on that :? I see a trip to the optician in my future

Nice to meet you Debby. As mentioned above I'm working on the Summer Alphabet, I also want to start the Box of Delights SAL from Blackwork Journey and continue on my Chatelaine Sleeping Beauty's Castle. I have a few small freebies lying around as well so will add a few of those wehn i feel in the mood for a quick finish.

 Welcome back Xandra it's really great to have you back online with us and to know your stitchy bug has finally returned. He sure took a long holiday that is for sure.
Looking forward to seeing your WIPs/UFOs as you get to work on them. Don't leave it too long before you see the optician as it will only hurt your eyes more to keep stitching without the help. Never tried working on 40ctfabric, that sure is very fine.
