I seem to remember you were going to do a lovely project with your ginger cat in the snow, on of your photographs. Are you still intending to do it sometime or are you just at a crossroads waiting for inspiration for next project? Whatever you choose will most likely be an outstanding work.

That will make a fantastic picture on the wall...best not to turn it into a cushion, I think. Those will make it their own.

It's going on the wall. Our local friendly framer is on holiday to 1 September, so I can't do anything with it until then - which is probably better news for my pocket money as he is very expensive [but worth it].

The next project is a test piece to test blending, very small (184 x 48) but quite a few colours - 119 blends from 151 different thread colours:

This will be roughly life size at 25ct tent stitch, and will be framed with a letterbox when finished - and possibly hung on the inside of the bathroom door, though the boss has yet to agree it...

Then I have another Luis Royo I want to do:


And, while trying to keep it secret from my wife, our old cat Gryff:


The important one is the little one of the eyes, as I need to verify that blending is done correctly in my charting program.

What interesting projects you have lined up Richard. Look forward to seeing each once you start them, they are bound to be lovely. They are so varied; it is great we see so many different projects on here, things some of us would not probably look at. I do love the cat best of all though. Your wife should be thrilled with that if you do manage to complete it without her seeing

I honestly don't think you'll see the snare when it's framed, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

What a gorgeous finish - and I bet your wife is over the moon with it. Those comments about naked ladies are just to cover up her emotion

I'm sorry the snag bothers you; I saw that when you first discovered it you were considering covering the white bits withe a permanent marker. Perhaps that would make it more acceptable to you? Whatever any of us thinks, whether we wouldn't be bothered by it or whether it would nag us forever, is really neither here nor there - it's about making the work the unadulterated joy it should be for you the stitcher, and your wife the subject and recipient. And please don't let that snag stop you from feeling very, very proud of this wonderful achievement, both in charting and in stitching and in the amount of love that was put into it!

I have written my own software to convert images to charts, or even start an image from scratch (though I find the need to have some artistic ability makes that really rather difficult). The software for PC's can be downloaded from my signature. If you download it & have problems or suggestions, could you either contact me by PM or add a post to this thread: http://www.crossstitchforum.com/viewtop ... =4&t=26159 (keeps it all together). There is a help file in the download which describes most things the program can do - but I know the thing inside out and am possibly not the best person to see where it's difficult to use.
