New cross stitcher and missing lines in my chart! Help?

Post by Miranda »

Hi there,
I hope you dont mind, I've added myself as a member here to a)learn more about cross stitching and b)because I need help with something!

I have only got into cross stitch recently as a way of helping myself de-stress and feel creative. I have to say I am now a little bit addicted and cant help looking at all the wonderful patterns out there!
I am currently doing a chart which I got of ebay, that has a few lines missing in a chart. The chart is over two pages and where the pages meet in the middle, there appears to be a few lines missing in the pattern! I have emailed the company Anchor, but I am in a bit of a panic that my lovely cross stitch I'll have to bin because there are lines missing!
Does anyone else out there have the pattern to Anchor's 'Egyptian ladies holding hands' pattern, number PCE803?? I would be ever so grateful if anyone can help me. Unfortunately the person I bought the pattern off was a private seller and not a cross stitch online shop so they dont have any copies.
I'm really hoping Anchor gets back to me with the missing lines of the chart!

Sorry for the plea for help!

 Hello Miranda and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! and welcome to cross stitching, a wonderful way to deal with stress (at least it is for me). There is so much to learn and this is a great place for learning. If you have a question, always feel free to ask it. Someone will either know the answer or have a good idea of where to go to find the answer. Your second question may be more difficult. Usually when a pattern is more than one page, the last 3 rows of the first page and/or the first 3 rows of the second page, are shaded slightly to let you know that they are repeated. Is it possible that is what is confusing you? Or is the chart so old that the pages have become worn out at a fold? I found the design but looks like ebay is where the image came from. Egyptian Panel looked like the title and if it is, that would be what you would need to search. Someone here might have it and be willing to send it to you. We can't make copies of charts as that is a violation of the copyright laws and we are pretty strict about that, but if someone has it, has already used it or their taste in designs has changed, they could arrange something with you. I am really sorry this happened on one of your first projects.

Welcome to the forum Miranda. All I can add to the previous post is that you could Google the chart name but you would probably have to buy it again. I hope you will hear something more positive.

Welcome from SW France.
Reading this I wonder whether this was a copy of a chart? :thinks: If so the seller might have copied it badly! :tantrum:
Have you placed the charts side by side, lining up the grid lines. Not all charts have a shaded overlap.
As Squirrel has said, Anchor are a good company and may just be able to help.

Good Luck!
