 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! What a great project you have picked. We have several members who are stitching different Aimee Stewart bookshelf designs. They are fantastic and I hope that you will post pictures for us to see your progress.

I'm not sure what to suggest regarding the frame you are looking for. I use either q snaps or a hoop for my stitching and generally just fold the extra fabric into the grime guards. For two handed stitching I use a Lowery Stand which holds either of those, though I generally don't use it because  its hard to have enough room between my lap, a cat, and the stand to actually stitch. We have had many discussions on the forum about frames and stands so I'm sure that you will get lots of suggestions. Most of the larger frames tend to be on the more expensive side but if there is something within your budget, someone will know.

Is this the stand you have?

Instead of looking for a whole new setup, what you need are longer scroll rods. The stand legs and the side bars on your existing stand are used with any length rods. I don't know what length rods F.A. Edmunds makes. I know American Dream Products makes rods up to 60 inches long. If you can get just the rods in the length you need, it's a whole lot less expensive than buying a whole stand. Show us what stand you have and let's see if we can help you get set up. :)

And welcome to the forum. :whoop:

Hi, i am Ana from New Jersey. I have started stitching in 18ct aida..unfortunately i didnt leave 3 inches lengthwise. I have left about half an inch. I am going to have to add aida on the sides to have the extra space. Its an amazing project and the clarity is amazing. I will definitely post more pictures. Thank you very much for your help..

Yes.This is the stand i brought for 15 dollars. Its pretty sturdy for the price. But the rods are too small. Would rods from american dream fit into this frame. I dont like the split in the rods either. Is there an alternative?. I am very new to this and I am a student. This works as a relief for me. Lol. Thank you very much for your help.

when I needed new rods for my scroll frame I just went to the hardware store and bought dowels in the same diameter as the rods. for attatching the fabric I just tape it on, leaving an extra fabric allowance to trim off the taped edge when its done. total cost was $8

Hi Ana. :) Welcome to the forum. I was born and raised in Burlington County, New Jersey.

The ADP rods have threaded ends that you screw knobs on. Yes, you could use them and just clamp the ends in your side bars, but the rods would be kinda expensive to modify like that. I don't like the split-frame rods either. The fabric in them always slipped on me and I'd have to reroll the rods to get tension back.

If you're on a budget, I can't offer a better solution than Cairee gave. Go to Home Depot or Lowes or someplace similar. Take a scroll rod with you to match the diameter. You'll need two dowels the same diameter as the scroll rod and that are about 5 inches longer than the maximum width of your fabric. You'll need the extra 5 inches to go through the side bars and have a little stick out as well as have a little space between the edge of the fabric and the sidebar. You might be able to buy one dowel and cut it in half. If the store isn't busy, see if someone on the floor will to cut it for you. And grab a roll of masking tape while you're there.
