Squirrels Hardanger Coaster motifs 10/12/15

Post by Squirrel »

OK Here are the first 3 motifs done for the coasters I hope. It has taken me 1 1/2 hours to get photobucket to accept them!!!!!!

Image

S =Staci L= Luke H= Hannah

Hopefully starting their parents ones tomorrow. As they both have names beginning with K I am going to use Mabel's Happy Hour and/or Kaleidoscope motifs and specialty threads for them and for my DD & Sil. Phew, only 4 more to go

The next picture you will see will be the whole 5 for down south mounted in their coasters - but please don't hold your breath. It is totally new and a bit scary country for me

:applesauce: :applesauce: Those are lovely and you will do fine with the coasters. I was very nervous when I made them for gifts last Christmas but Mabel gave me great instructions and it went well. I have more and was planning on that for this year, but next year is when they will be done.

Thanks everyone. I do enjoy hardanger and find it more relaxing than cross stitch quite often.

Those are beautiful, Sally. I've not done any hardanger, but maybe I should give it a go.

Debby go to page 4 of the Stitch-A-Long thread and it is there. Sign up 1 December for a start Jan 1 and the shopping list is already on there now. Failing that go to Mabels Fancies on her web site and the Round In Circles SAL is up there.

I do hope you will join in -- an exciting easy way to learn how to do it. :x: :rainbow:

I am going to try and get the pics of the finished coasters + the anniversary card motif from a difficult to make work photobucket.
and 2 hours later I have got them onto here.

This is the whole group of them. The 3 initial ones for the Grands (Staci,Luke & Hannah) the blue and pink ones are for the parents (Kevin & Keren) The Brown and Yellow ones for DD -Jenny - and SIL Phil.

Image

Then comes the lovely Sweetheart Tree one which I have given to a dear friend this morning as a Thank You for lots of encouragement over recent weeks. She keeps telling me "you can do it Sally, you can do it" So I did.

Image

Last and definitely not the least is the heart shape from a very old copy of Not JUst Cross Stitch and is K&K's 25th wedding anniversary card.

Image

My gift to them will be the Chatelaine design I stitches about 2 years ago and which has just been framed by my favourite framer in Melbourne. Hopefully by now my Grand daughter Staci has picked it up but I will double check with her in a day or so to make sure she hasn't forgotten.

Phew

Thanks for looking

What gorgeous stitching, and won't everyone be thrilled to receive such thoughtful gifts! :applesauce: :applesauce: (And I know how tricky that Sweetheart Tree design is -- I did a Christmas one, given as a Stashmas present once -- beautiful and well worth doing, but tricky!)
