Hello~ It's me again. Just want to know is there any one of you doing HAED freebie "Sabrina baking elf"? I am planning to start this one. She may look a bit scary to some of you but to me she is such a cutie =) haven't stitched anything like this before so I think I may give it a try. I will stitch it on 28ct Jobelan but 2x1 tent stitch this time. Yesterday I rushed to the craft store after work just to get the threads that I need. There are so many first time in this one. My first time using tent stitch, my first time stitching on a q snap, my first time stitching with some many pink, and my first time stitching a girl/doll's face. Anyway, I will update you guys my progress. I hope this one will be stitched up fast and can't wait to see the cute face!

What a cute design that is! I think it will be a lot of fun to stitch and I'm sure you will do just fine. Remember all cross stitch is one stitch at a time and that hold true for tent stitching also. That is my preference for HAED charts and though I have a variety of configurations, once I discovered tent stitching I love it for the speed of stitching and on 28 ct I get good coverage. I hope that you will post lots of pictures for us. Looking forward to seeing your progress!

I guess I am the only one doing this chart Here is what I've done in the past 3 days. Only got 2 hours of stitching everyday and frogged on the first 2 days. It seems I have good progress and my speed increased A LOT compared to using full crosses !
What do you think about the coverage? Do you think if my fabric distorted? I am always afraid of fabric distortion as I had really bad experience on my first attempt to do my first HAED. That's why I haven't tried tent stitches. I am extremely careful about the tension in this project.
Great start!! I think your coverage is great! The fabric doesn't look distorted to me at all. I am looking forward to seeing your updates on the wonderful and fun design!!

Have you thought about gridding your fabric? I need my magnifier when gridding on 28 ct fabric (and for stitching on it these days also), but find it so much easier to prevent or spot counting errors sooner than without the grid lines. I use the washable ink pens, but there are a lot of different ways to grid using thread or fishing line. If you do a search on the forum you will find a lot of discussion on gridding. I found this one from several years ago Gridding. There is a good tutorial on the Scarlet Quince website and quite a few video tutorials if you do a google search on gridding methods for cross stitch.
We also hold regular frog frying events at the Stash & Grab for those times when the frogs are out of control!

Looks like you are getting on well with it.
Must admit the detail is quite spectacular, especially for a freebie, and you're coping with that level of detail with apparent ease. Can't say anything other than 'Keep it up & look forward to the next progress photo.'.
Beautiful progress!! Looking forward to the next update!
