With a little help from my friend
Hi, all. I got here thanks to Wendy Wombat. I am another refugee from what looks like a defunct forum. Shame. Was a nice little community. Still, onward to pastures new. I have been a needle addict for many years now. DH and I have a happy patchwork family and very proud of our 10 grandchildren. Have adopted my best friend's grandson in Germany, too. Hope to find my way around this forum soon. Not a lot of time this month as having two grandsons staying nearly a week and then off to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary.
Lovely to keep in touch with old friends.

Greetings from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us. This place is full of friendly people and is really one of the best things to happen in my stitching world.

Hi Brigette and Welcome from me too in sunny Brisbane where summer seems to have returned for a day or two. So glad you found us and I know you will soon find your way around too.

Welcome!
Glad to have you here. This place is fantastic. The only downside I have found is my stash has increased exponentially.

Re: With a little help from my friend
Thank you so much for the friendly welcome.
Sorry, it took me so long to get back on here. I am sure the weeks are getting shorter by the minute. Had such a busy month of June, so now I am hoping to settle into the usual forum routine again.

June was very busy, wasn't it?
Still, I'm so glad you found us here. We'll all miss the cosy NS forum, but here you are and that's wonderful!

Brigitte,
So lovely to see you here. I have been a member of this forum for some time but have not posted that often, having found the much smaller New Stitches forum so much smaller and less time consuming to access and participate in. However, I shall now check in here regularly as the NS one is now no more. The Wombat alerted me as well to the situation at NS, so A BIG THANK YOU, WENDY !!!!! You have brought us all together here.
I haven't been to any shows since Ally Pally last year, and the last weekend I went on was Jane's Newbury one last year. the fact is, that my health has worsened and I now am told that I have a neurological condition which is incurable and progressive so my ability to walk and to move freely is quite compromised but I remain interested in stitching, knitting etc, although I am slower than before. Apparently I am still in the 'early stages' of the condition!! I was booked on Mary Hickmott's South of England Sampler tour in September but have had to cancel having had a very nasty fall in Cornwall in May and my husband said I shouldn't go. I felt so unwell for at least two weeks that I agreed with him. Although I am now much better I do think that we were right to cancel.
How is your Mum in Germany? Are you still having to go over there as much as you were?
Must go, have some lunch and get ready to watch Wimbledon this afternoon! Guess who I'm rooting for!
Love, Ann
