What facric
Although I have been doing cross stitch for a number of years I have always used aida, usually 14 count because I can see the holes better. I would like to stitch on a different fabric and wondered what other cross stitchers would suggest I try.
Re: What facric
There are so many options that it's hard to suggest. If you like the 14ct aida because the holes are easy to see, you might want to think about getting a magnifier to stitch on some of the evenweave fabrics. I think most of them start at 25ct. You could also increase the size of the aida that you use. I also like Hardanger fabric which is 22 ct and have done some projects on those. With my Magni lite I can stitch comfortably on 28ct over 1 or 2, or 32 ct over 2. I may have some swatches of different fabrics (not sure because I gave some to a friend to test out), but if you want to pm me your address I would be glad to send them to you. Might just be one or two, but a member was very kind and did that for me when I first joined and wanted to move away from 18ct afghan fabric. It was very helpful, so let me know if I can help.

You can PM me your name and address too as I have 25 & 28 ct evenweave pieces I could send you to 'play' with to see which you would like to try.

I love lugana evenweave although it took me a little time to adjust from aida. That was many years ago and I have never gone back to aida. The lugana is so soft but doesn't have the imperfections of linen.

Thank you, a lady off this site has sent me some linen and lugana to try.
