I made a few alterations to suit. The figure is a representation of a target shooter from The States called Evil Roy and hubby wanted it put in! I made as good a version as I could.
The fabric is 14 count Rustic Aida.
I can see how it could be a bit of a sensitive subject for some people but as it is a personal sampler and you won't display it in public bus shelters or something like that it should be up to your DH what he wants in his den.
I think it's great! I love the evil Roy character you added. My husband would go target shooting also and would have loved a sampler like that!

Certainly it is different and I am sure you will stitch it with lots of love and your DH will enjoy seeing it on the wall of his den and that is what matters the most.

Thanks everyone! I enjoyed stitching it and although it's not the usual sampler subject by any means...it will sit happily on the wall of his Den!
Sadly in the current climate, guns are a very serious and contentious subject so I did hesitate before putting this up.
In France the gun laws are very strict, but disasters still happen! The disciplines that my husband adheres to happily have no accidents and everyone in the clubs to which he belongs have rigid guidelines.
We will never stop the sudden maniac incidents however strict the rules, and that's eventually going to stop the well behaved from enjoying a sport.
