Does anyone know where I can find paintings that have been converted to cross stitch charts? The only patterns I've been able to track down have been, Starry night, Girl with a pearl earring and Mona Lisa.
Alternatively, what's the best software for converting pictures to patterns?

Re: Fine art cross stitch patterns
Allyn has mentioned the two I was going to mention in her first two suggestions (must investigate the rest as I wasn't aware of them).
Now, as to the other half of the question, there is a thread here http://www.crossstitchforum.com/viewtop ... f=3&t=2270 on Pattern Making Programs. It is quite a long thread, with more recent programs mentioned towards the end. Must declare an interest - I have written one myself and developed it with the helpful input from a few members of this forum, and am willing to modify the program further if someone comes up with a good suggestion.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: Fine art cross stitch patterns
I have Renoir's "Girl with a Watering Can." It was put out by The Fine Arts Heritage Society. I seem to remember they also had kits for a few others like Girl with a Hoop and some of the Degas ballerina prints. My mom wanted the Watering Can and after I finished it I swore never again. The impressionist style made stitching miserable - it seemed like you never had more than 3 stitches of the same color connected. I have no idea if their contact information is still good as I completed this one back in late eighties or early nineties. 1-800-261-7784 or 1-800-741-3175. 1075 Old Norcross Rd. Lawrenceville, GA 30245. More recently, I feel like I've seen some in The Stitchery or Needlearts - one of those catalogs that come to the house - maybe some of Monet's Water Lillies series?

http://www.fineartsheritagesociety.com/" target="_blank Should have done this first. That is the link to their website, they have large selection available. Happy stitching - hope this helps and you're still monitoring the boards.
