Design ideas, please

Hi,

I am new to this forum and cross stitch avidly for weeks at a time then do nothing for a while. I am going to a birthday celebration in September and the hostess has provided star shaped card badges for all guests to make into a name badge with an element of competition involved. I thought I would cut the same shape out of perforated paper and cross stitch a design and glue it to the badge. I am looking for design inspiration! The lady concerned loves turquoise so I am planning a colour scheme of turquoise, maybe with some beads, light and / or dark blue to tone and orangey red to provide a contrast.

Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

What a Wonderful idea your hostess has

I would stitch a shooting star or comet. You could make the star in bright white or rainbow beads and the tail of the comet would look great in turquoise shiny metallics with a bright orange flare between the comet and the tail.

Or a beach scene with a bright cheery little orange hut and orange starfish with a blue turquoise sea and a blue sky.

Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! What a lovely idea this is. Does the hostess or the "birthday girl or boy or man or woman" have a special hobby or interest or pet? Maybe something related to that (for example the logo of a special sports team?)
