Haven't really managed to do much of Mavis lately so I've sat for a couple of hours this afternoon and done a bit more. I'm working my way up towards the head as I like to stitch that area first. If I see the animal or bird 'looking at me' it spurs me on to finish it more

This is such an adorable design! I am a sucker for chickens... Had pet ones for years and they're so fun!

Good start Nicola. Hens have such bright beady eyes that peer at you haven't they? Look forward to seeing her again soon

I like to work from the top down too, even if I start from the middle and tackle it the way that you're doing.
Every stitch is progress, doesn't matter what speed you do.

Thank you everyone. As you all know I'm stitching Mavis for my Mum but I will also now be stitching her in memory of one of our four hens, Maud, who was attacked and killed by a cat yesterday afternoon
RIP Maud xxx

Oh, I'm so sorry about Maud. But the Mavis face makes me smile; I hope it does the same for you.

Yes I'm really enjoying stitching her. We're still very upset about the whole thing but Maud's death is spurring me on with the project which is good xxx

Sorry about Maud.
How are you going to dare to put this stitching down, with those beady eyes watching you??

What a horrible think to happen to poor Maud. Very bad cat for sure.
Lovely to see the head on Mavis too, it is looking real now.
