Robin will feel right at home with the others once he's got his backstitch on :-)

Lovely work on this one, and you'll probably feel better if you finish this one first, although no one says you can't open the other one to peek. :)

Well, I finished this on 7th May, but came down with a stonking headcold, and felt too bad to do any computering.

Winter completed, without backstitch

Image

And Robin with his backstitch on, and Winter complete

Image

and the whole project completed

Image

And the two pieces side by side.

Image

I think when I eventually get round to having these framed I want a natural wood without a mount.

So it is on to my next project, I accidentally started this one

Image

My DS came in while I was transferring threads from Bothy's card to my own and said "Oh it's Foxy Mc Foxface", and the name stuck, so Foxy Mc Foxface it is, aka Amongst the Foxgloves.

Love your seasons duo Maureen! And yes I think a plain wooden frame will work really well! Love Foxy Mc Foxface!

Well done Maureen, your Birds and Seasons is so beautifully stitched. The backstitch makes the Robin and the holly really pop out.
I am still thinking of buying this kit. I love it. The woodland friends kit is very tempting too. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Foxy Mc Foxface has a lovely expression on his face. Looking forward to your next update...

WELL DONE MAUREEN :whoop: :whoop: :whoop: The 4 Seasons Birds are amazing when seen altogether and then seeing them with the animals too, it is fabulous. :mexicanwave: :mexicanwave: :mexicanwave:

I wonder how you "accidentally" start a design you meant for later althoughts on second thoughts don't tell me, I might be tempted again.

Love Foxy McFoxFace - he is gorgeous and it is a great start you have made too.

Mr Fox already has a great expression :-)

And how gorgeous are those two circles  ! It was also great to see the non-backstitch version and backstitch version together, it especially makes the ivy leaves pop!

Thank you so much for all your lovely replies. It means ever such a lot to me. Thank you.

Why I said accidentally started this one is because I was itching to start Birds of a Feather and had him all set out, I just needed to swap the threads on to my own thread holder. I had set all my Wrendales out and that was when this one began calling to me and DS came in and said oh it's Foxy Mc FoxFace, so that's how I started this one instead of Birds of a Feather.

Oh I know that feeling! I'm busy trying to decide which one I want to do after Billy! One minute it's a definite for the hedgehog, then it's the rabbit, then I'm adamant it'll be the deer etc etc! :tizzy:

Oh I perfectly understand you both, I just cleaned out my cupboard yesterday and while at it had a look at my kits - I nearly started a new one but in the end didn't.

Thank you everyone for all your lovely comments, they really do mean the world to me.

Hmm, I am not happy with the way Foxy Mc FoxFace is stitching up.

The difference between the cover photo and the stitched piece is quite noticeable now and while I know there will always be a colour variant from the cover photo to the stitched piece, it is so noticeable, the richness just isn't there around his face and on his shoulder, I am not happy with it, and therefore not enjoying stitching it.

I have taken a photo of him alone and a side by side with the cover photo to show the difference. Hmm, I'm not sure about carrying on with this,

Foxy Mc FoxFace by himself

And with cover photo

Blissful Mr. Fox was not as noticeable as this.

What do you think?

I think when they've taken the photo for the cover kit the saturation is a bit higher than in real life. Oh please carry on with him though you're doing so well and he looks gorgeous! xxx
