Maureen I would be tempted to try and match some of those colours in the cover photo as the difference is quite noticeable. Whatever you decide though I hope it is to continue with this lovely one. He looks so relaxed amongst the flowers. and your stitching, as always is fabulous :)

Oh my goodness, the fox is simply beautiful, but I do see what you mean about the big difference in the shades of browns not being as intense, but nonetheless, he is just amazing!! Very beautiful stitching!!

I also think he's lovely.
You are comparing the two foxes as seen at the same time of day.
I think that this one is seen in the early morning when there is still mist in the air. That's why he doesn't look as bright. The other fox is seen in the afternoon after his Siesta! Therefore he looks brighter in the afternoon sun.

Please keep stitching him as I think the two side by side will look Fantastic!! :D

Please, please carry on with him!
I have to say I like your picture even more with the not so saturated colours, they make the piece look even more natural and that's what I really like about it.
Also woooow you are quick!

Your Fox's expression is truly lovely. As for the colours, I like them more natural and furthermore, the backstitch will make a lot of difference.
I am sure that you won't regret stitching him, Maureen :)

Thank you for all your replies Lovlies.

I took a break from stitching Foxy McFoxFace for a few days and stitched more pieces for stash to have ready for cards - more of that later.

I am feeling a bit better about Foxy McFoxFace now and will keep on with him in a few days, all your replies have helped.

Nicola - that makes a lot of sense, the colour saturation is really high on Amongst the Foxgloves, I found Wrendales website! (oh my gosh, if you click the link you do run the risk of wanting more and emptying your purse/wallet )and Amongst the Foxgloves is there :

https://www.wrendaledesigns.co.uk/foxgl ... titch.html" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank
(sorry I don't know how to link just a photo from the website)
The image on Wrendales website is more realistic and faithful to how it is stitching up.

I do feel much better about it now although I was tempted to use up the left over Rust from Blissful Mr.Fox as per Sally's suggestion before I found the Wrendale website.

I think I prefer Wendy's description of what happened though, I must be a hopeless old romantic at heart.

So, when I had a break from Foxy McFoxFace, I thought I had better stitch up some more pieces for the stash to be made into cards. I have been stitching stained glass flowers and although I don't have a photo of the designs I do have this that had been previously made into a card.

and these are pieces that have been stitched earlier this year,

Here is where I am now with Rose number 5

I also want to stitch the Poppy in the set too. I have lost count of how many times I have stitched these, I keep giving them away

Oh yes I do see why you keep stitching these designs, they are so beautiful and they really do look like stained glass windows.
Your current one is stitching up beautifully, just like the other ones.

P.s.: I just bought that same bird kit you have stitched before, just couldn't resist any longer. :whoop:

Thank you Sina!

I'm sure you will enjoy the Birds & Seasons when it arrives, you may have to enlarge the chart though, In hindsight I should have enlarged mine instead of clipping it to my roller frame.

I also swapped the fabric, it was a yellow-y cream supplied with mine which I thought drained some of the colours, so I swapped it for Antique White Aida and I think it's turned out okay.

Free shipping always helps doesn't it

:applesauce: :applesauce: I love your Mr. Fox and think he looks so natural with the coloring you have, than on the chart cover. I like Wendy's explanation too. His expression is wonderful and I'm glad you will be getting back to it soon.

Hi Nicola,

The charts were a freebie from World of Cross Stitching magazine, I had a look on ebay and they have quite a few.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... h&_sacat=0" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

If this isn't working as a link ( I'm on my tablet atm) try putting 18 pretty floral charts cross stitch into ebay and they should come up.

They are all really pretty, the 6 stained glass ones are my favourite.

I always take a photo or scan my paper charts and load them onto my tablet and work from there, that way I can enlarge the chart as much as I want and another advantage is I don't mess up my original charts. They're being packed away as soon as the images are loaded onto the tablet.
I have never stitched a pattern more than once but it is nice to know that I could do it if I wanted to. :D

If you're interested this is the fabric they offered me to swap out for the Aida. I'm really glad as I'm sure I wouldn't have bought the kit with the Aida fabric. Great customer service I've got to say!

I've never used my tablet for charts, do you disable the timing thing where it goes dark then sleeps to save battery? On reflection though I think I prefer paper charts.

It will be interesting to see Birds & Seasons on that lovely fabric.

Yes Maureen that's just what I do! I think the screen goes black after 10 minutes of not touching so this rarely happens while stitching as I mark off my completed stitches along the way. I need to charge my tablet every 1-2 days, but I mostly only use it for stitching, don't tell anyone but actually being able to view my charts on there was the main reason I bought it for. :)
