I'm afraid that I feel the same. Many years back when I first joined there were some photos of members put up and the author of that post found one of me....no idea how or from where and I was Not Impressed

Glad you understand Sarah. That is what is nice on here. If you do not agree with something as long as you are polite no one minds -you all seem to put over your points of view without anyone feeling aggrieved.

There are so many hackers who are very clever & after my recent spate of red alert pop up messages & alerting emails saying someone has tried to get into my details I am even more wary of what I do on the Internet.

I do like the photo of Mabel & I would not recognise her out in the street. Love the cat too.

That must have been so scary Wendy, Suppose you felt affronted as well as appalled that someone got a pic of you. Agree about wrinkles. DH & I have less teeth & more body nowadays

I understand not wanting your picture out there - it's just that because of what I do with Mabel's Fancies and teaching workshops and so on and also the other business pics of me are easy to find anyway But I agree keeping things secure is important!

Understand that Mabel but I am wary as I can be. On Wales news last week a man was convicted for collecting people's information & selling it on the dark web, whatever that is. Think it means think it means illegal transactions area of the web.

Heard today neighbour's husband phoned hospital re a check he should have had a few months ago. As there have been long delays he left it until today's post & he'd still not heard so telephoned. The hospital told him records of NHS patients were lost when their computer system was wiped out!!

Thankfully we do not bank online. Where we used to live over the past 20 years or so a few have had their details taken & loans/credit cards taken out in their names Hard to believe people sit there all day at computers trying to find ways to get more money from innocent people. If unable to obtain a job they could spend that time doing voluntary work instead

It's a shame isn't it, that there willalways be people tryingto take advantage of others or cheat them . Actually I was agreeing with everyone who doesn't post pictures and explaining why in my own case I don't mind because there are several of me out there already for business purposes, so one more won't hurt .

I do try and make sure there I don't leave important papers lying around that might end up in the picture though, or pictures of locks on doors or anything like that! And when we're on holiday, I don't post any pictures or mention it until we're safely back again, so that no-one knows we're away - I really enjoy seeing people's holiday snaps but sometimes when they post them while they are on holiday I want to grab them and shout "Don't advertise the fact that your house is empty at the moment!!!!!"

You certainly are on the ball Mabel. I know you were explaining 'cos you teach several classes & you have your website so you are well known & also more aware of what is going on out there.

Such a very good idea not to say anything about holidays until you are safely back home. Brilliant, never gave that a thought myself. I know you are a busy person with your designing & trying new ideas so you post pictures regularly. There was me thinking I'd missed a post of yours saying you were going away. Also, I missed your photos of new designs/WIP etc. Now I know why you don't mention being away from home. Years ago we only had to concern ourselves with not telling workmen or window cleaners when your house was going to be unoccupied.

Also thanks for tips re locks showing in pics. Am usually careful about papers but these extra tips of your are really excellent. High five to you for ingenuity

Years ago went out one day about 11 am & thought a neighbour was having a new front door lock fitted. Found out few days later the so called workman wearing ordinary jacket & a cap was a burglar!! Had his toolbox next to him so never thought anything was wrong. Several others had seen him & thought the same as me. We could not believe the cheek of that man.
