Your Stitching Corner

I thought that it might be fun to see each other's Stitching Corner and add a little description
Do you like the idea or may be, there has been a similar thread before...
Here is mine :

I stitch mainly in the evening or late afternoon, in our through lounge, facing the window.

There might have been a thread like this before, but we have new people as well as others who may have changed their stitching spot. I sit at the dining room table and don't really have a corner, but once I neaten it up, I'll take a photo. May be a while.

Yes Poppy, there was a thread maybe a year or so ago and I have found the picture I took then of my spot on the balcony which I will include here. Sadly I haven't been out there much this past summer as it has been too darned hot so I will take a photo shortly of my table when I settle to my stitching.

Mmm the photo I thought of was just of the table with a load of different stuff on it. Will have to have a good look at my album.







OK the top is not very clear but it is right under a nice big window looking out on my daughter & son-in-law's lovely back garden.

The bottom one is my work table on the front balcony setting up morning tea and no doubt later on my stitching.

I sit near lounge window in recliner chair with footrest raised - can see into back garden. have 2 tier wooden trolley on left side. Floor lamp with magnifier on right side.

I have two stitching corners...just like Sally.
I have a Poang chair in the conservatory for Spring Summer and Autumn. My magnifier light goes out there by the chair.
For evenings and winter my Sofa gets totally cluttered with knitting and stitching stuff and the light is then by the side of that. It's a well travelled light!
I can also sit outside in the Summer where I don't need the magnifier and it's shaded from the heat.

I must be the worlds worst restless stitcher! In other words I don't have a 'Special dedicated' stitching Place!

As you know, in this household it is easier to stitch a full size tablecloth than to have a photo taken of it, let alone loaded into my computer. Probably some day soon...

I also have a few corners in which I stitch: Daughter's sofa in her living room next to the bow window- I adore stitching there in the sunshine.

As I stitch on hands, I have stitching corners wherever I bring my stitching travel bag with my kit and scissors. All I need is silence and good light. Nothing exciting about my stitching corner.

I have three current 'stitching' corners. First one is in my computer room sitting on the sofa bed with my Elbesee floor frame in front of me. Charts usually clipped onto the frame tension clips and others to the left on the sofa bed and pako needle organiser and scissors to the right. My small table has my notepad, pens and cut bits of thread etc beside the floor stand on the right. My new Oypla daylight floor lamp is beside that too.

Second is in the living room sitting on the sofa with a view of the TV (I like to have something on in the background instead of just silence) and also a view out of the windows to the back garden. Similar set up to the computer room but pako on the arm rest to the left along with scissors and highlighter and charts to the right on the sofa.

Third is in my bedroom (usually have the radio on in there). I only do small sessions in there as sitting on the bed without a proper back rest gets uncomfortable and there's just not enough room for charts and accessories as the other two

We all have similar set ups but some of us like silence and some others like background music/TV.

My 'corner' is a heap next to an armchair in our living room. I generally have one of two frames available. Then, when not in use, a head torch is hanging over 1 corner. Leaning against the chair is a folder with the chart key & thread list in clear envelopes. In two A4 Ziploc bags are all my threads. In the bigger of the two are smaller Ziploc bags with the skeins in them. Sorted into one of the smaller bags there will be a range of 100 or so skeins, eg the 100-199 range, or the 200-299 range of DMC colours. The in the smaller A4 Ziploc A4 bag, there are a series of thread cards, with one hole for each thread in the DMC range. In each one of these hole is a maximum of 6 threads.
On top of an octagonal Victorian sewing table (total 16" across flats) next to my heap are the blend cards for the current project and a pair of Fiskar scissors.
On top of everything will be a light dusting of cat fur, occasionally attached to a cat.

Well, as it says in my location, I stitch in my armchair by the window, I don't have a photo I'm afrais.

I also like to have something on in the background usually news or a documentary of some sort unless there is a Jane Austen adaptation on somewhere on the far too many T.V. channels.

I agree Sally's balcony look the ideal spot.

I'd love to see some more photos of your stitching spots.
I'll post one of mine soon. I sit in a comfortable armchair with the threads on a stool on the left side, my tablet with the pattern, scissors and a needle threader on both arm-rests and of course my stitching in front of me, using a q-snap held by a floor stand by Daylight.

I took this photo the other day and meant to put it on here too! My stitchy corner in my study room. I sit on the sofa bed with big cushions (relatively comfortable) my floor frame which I absolutely adore and wouldn't be without it now! I'm using my big A3 clipboard to put my chart on and have put it in a book stand on one of the small nest of tables. Colouring pens with symbols sellotaped on so I can 'colour in' my chart as I go. It is great to have a mental picture of how we all stitch and realize how many stitching "styles" we all have.

I have my couch and sometimes the sort of outside stitching spot. The latter just have that problem I may stay there a bit too long and burn, and that's not nice. Sun is my friend, but I'm a bit sensitive.
I like to stitch on the couch in the living room of my apartment. I also have many eps of the local morning TV in my digital trap (timed recording). I usually stitch at least 1 ep, that lasts 3 hours 5 minutes. Sometimes, if I need more space, I may stitch more episodes or then I change to knitting and some program I can watch during knitting. The stitching is for morning TV and some sport events, like ice hockey. The noise level will tell, if someone scored.
