Does anyone else have a problem with the threads in Dimensions kits?
The ones in Lakeside Village appear to be of mixed quality. Some strands are very thin while others which are thicker give better cover when stitched. They make their own threads as it says if you run out of a colour to contact them for more as no one else makes their colours.
May have to switch to stitching with needle between the 2 threads each time. Have read about it somewhere where & think it says that way of stitching takes a little longer but creates a more even stitch each time.
Would be glad of advice please.

The thickness - or otherwise - of the threads in Dimensions kits is often like that. I suspect it is the cheapest they can buy and is a darned nuisance. I do sub out their very thin ones and use my own.

Re: ? Dimensions threads
I have varied thread quality as well. I would do as Sally says if Bay Village was smaller but there is so much black & dark greens & blues that I myself do not have enough to replace threads. OK, I could buy from cheaper places mentioned on here by members but I do not want to pay out any more. I started railroading each stitch & it does help cover Aida better. Last night was a bit tired & forgot to railroad but noticed light pink stitches are not so neatly laid on the fabric so I will continue to stitch railroading.
How do you feel when you stand a few feet away from what you have stitched? I find it does not look nearly so bad as really close up or through a magnifier. I have a new magnifier that does go very large sometimes. Need it for different shades of mid/dark green behind small villa but it does bring up where stitches are not as neat as I would like them. Looking at it from behind my chair stitching looks OK. For myself that is fine as under glass it should look good but it is how you feel about it that matters.
Will endeavour to take pic & post it on here today. Going away so am busy but hope to get pic up.

Re: ? Dimensions threads
Hi I have also had issues with Dimensions threads, like you I found some to be thinner than others. If I can colour match to DMC I will use my own from my stash, if not I try to make sure the threads are sitting extra neatly side by side by making sure the threads are not twisted and inserting the needle inbetween the two strands of thread as the stitch is being stitched (since re-joinng this forum I have realised this may be called railroading). Hope that helps.
Something else I read on here which may help is to take the piece of stitching to a mirror and look at the reflection, I have often done that and found that what I was worried about doesn't look as bad as when it did when it was 10 inches away from the end of my nose! We are often our own worst critics.
Also if this piece will be framed and under glass, remember whatever the issue is, it will not be as noticeable by the time it is under glass and across the room on the wall.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Daisy & Garnet.
Daisy, it does not look so bad when I stand the other side of my stitching chair.
Garnet, also done what you said - looked at work in front of a mirror. & looks fine from there too.
Thank you both
