My first post on this forum, and this seemed fun to post on.

Hmm confessions, I often start new cross stitches before I finish one and usually have 3/5 on the go.

I use the smallest needle I can get so I can use as much of the thread as possible.

I am not too fussy about the back of my cross stitch as long as the front looks good.

I love to make up my own charts on my PC with pictures I like to see how good I can make the patterns, more detail the better.

I love doing cross stitches of wolves, so much my wife calls me Wolfie.

My biggest confession is that sometimes I stay up till 2 or 3 am stitching!

- I don't really care about the back either... it seems not many people do! As long as it's not knotty I don't care
- I don't ALWAYS but the right colours in the right places... especially not on big pieces. if I stitch one too many or miss a colour I don't take it back, I just cover it up lol
- I have A LOT of kits and patterns that I want to do, but I almost always never get to them!
- I always say I'll work on one piece at a time... but I usually have two or three on the go!

The back meants nothing to me- mine are usually messy and clumpy.

I improvise if I make mistakes that are too big.

I drunk stitch and it almost always works lol

If I’m working on a piece that I’ve purchased threads for I’m more liberal with the thread.

So glad I found this category. I was going to start one called 'Confession is Good for the Soul'!

Here's the deal: I stated, on this forum, that the floss holder I received in my Design Works kit had two colors switched up. When I discovered this 9 months in, I spend a good amount of time looking at the various patches of these colors that I had already stitched to see if any of them were 'correct' at one point. I couldn't find one!

Well, today, 3 days into my redo, the 'problem' colors came up in the diagram. I stitched them, feeling a relief that I was off on the right foot , and then I got out my old piece to compare, and lo and behold, they were correct there! Nowhere else! So this means that I must have had the two colors out of the holder at this point, and put them back in incorrectly! IT WAS MY FAULT.

I needed to set the record straight.

I considered letting Design Works know, but decided against it because their Customer Service folks weren't interested in the first place. They never did call back as promised, or send the cloth (although I did get a new diagram from them but I think they would do that like they'd send missing floss or something), so I don't feel I owe them anything. If they had sent the cloth, I would offer to pay for it.

Now, the good news: the color difference overall between the floss that came w/ their kit and the DMC floss I purchased myself is INCREDIBLE! Now it's actually going to look like the image I fell in love with; I will never use kit floss again, unless it comes in skeins w/ DMC labels on them... I should put that into the Tips section, huh...

Single threads? Do you mean single stitches? And anyway...... : FREEDOM!

Eh...what should I say? I read that "Oops, wrong color! No, it's right color after all! No, it's wrong...Oops, I AM TO BLAME FOR THE WRONG CHOICE!" - case.
The kit colors....I know I needlepoint, but I have one huge box full of leftovers. When I get the mere canvas, that is, just the printed Penelope canvas without yarns, I turn to the box of leftovers and choose the colors from there the best I can. I wonder, if S could do something like that with her stitching, but she would replace my leftover yarns with the threads of the kits.
I know my vocabulary is less than good, but I am sure someone will get my point.
