Going to Dublin!..Now Back Home

Post by wendywombat »

I'll take an umbrella, as insurance, you understand.

We've had a heck of a year so decided for our wedding anniversary we would take a City break. We can fly direct from Toulouse to Dublin, :airplane: no need for a hire car when we are there. Easy Peasy, lots to see, plenty of walking (comfy shoes already packed) The hotel is pretty well central and just does bed and breakfast so more opportunity to try the local grub! (food)

See y'all next w/end and I hope to get some updated Pamela Puffin photos sorted by then! :x:

Home again!
Dublin was all and more than we hoped!
No Rain so the carrying of Umbrellas worked as insurance! :whoop:

We had a fantastic Anniversary evening watching a splendid show with Irish dancing and song over a really good evening meal.

Dublin is a lovely clean and vibrant city, welcoming people and small enough to be 'walkable' but there were tram cars when we felt the legs and feet get tired.

Just the holiday we needed after a difficult year! :D

so glad you enjoyed yiur visit to our Emerald Ise. Our weather has been very good this year, infact the
east coast is still experiencing the effects of drought. I hope you got to visit the Guinness Storehouse when here.

I fell head over heels in love with Dublin!!

We did indeed visit the Guinness Storehouse!! I poured my pint of the Dark Brew with it's creamy top and gained my certificate. Then D/H (with his freshly poured pint ) went up to the 7th floor to the Panoramic fully glazed viewing deck and looked out over the city.
Then a boat trip on the River Liffey .We saw the Book of Kells which was incredible. Had an Irish night with a good meal, fantastic singing and dancing. Visited Jameson's Distillery and the fantastic Tall ship the Jeanie Johnstone.
Managed a bit of shopping in Grafton Street and rode the trams.

Not a drop of rain fell onto our heads and we ate wonderful food.

We hope to be back again in the not too distant future and plan to see more of your wonderful EMERALD ISLE
