How to frame a window?
I am backstitching the "Tropical Vacation Window" from Janlynn, and can't decide on the frame. If it is not white (the fabric is snow-white), it will look like a window in a window, I mean the frame of any other colour will make the window look odd. How would you frame this picture? As there is no photo of my finish at the moment, here is a picture from the internet to give you the idea of what I am asking about. Thank you for any ideas in advance.

that is a really good question. I'm not very good choosing frames for my projects and I'm sure you will get some really great suggestions from members who always seem to make great choices. I keep thinking about those paintings or large photos which are printed on a large canvas and have the sides folded around a form (not sure how to describe this). Can you do something like that? Do you have enough fabric on the sides of the design to do something like that? Hope I'm making sense. I'll see if I can find an image or photo of what I mean.

If the fabric is white, how much do you have unstitched surrounding the design?
If you could leave a border of the fabric exposed inside the frame it would represent a window frame. Then you could chose a mount board in a colour to represent the inside wall. The frame then could be of your colour choice.

I'm not very good at choosing frames as I do it so little, but I like Wendy's suggestion! Or if the design can stand on its own (be its own frame, as it were) then wrapping it around a stretched canvas (which I think is what Carole means?) might work as well.

Re: How to frame a window?
Thank you for your kind responses. I also am considering the version of no frame at all. The piece of the fabric is much larger than we usually use - my subconscience must have dictated when I was cutting the Aida. Now I will ask the framer if she can protect the stitching with glass.
