Thanks Serinde,
I think my daughter will be going on Saturday. She's even more under the paw than I.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: Cuz you love cats
My daughter managed to get there on Saturday and loved it.
The original artworks for the 'MOG' books were there, stories she'd grown up with and loved with a passion. She was able to recite most of the books off by heart at one time. All the pictures were done at a bigger size than seen in the books just to get the fine detail when scaled down to the printed size. She was amazed (and apalled) to see that the pictures had been corrected with Tipp-Ex in places, but loved to see the detail in the larger size. I got the impression she left the exhibition with a sort of warm-fuzzy feeling of the sort you get when you have indulged in childhood nostalgia and find that it's still a cherished part of the inner you, and hasn't been ruined by looking at it with adult eyes.
So, Serinde, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention, and enabling my daugheter to have a warm-fuzzy day.
As a consequence of the exhibition, my daughter's going to be buying a couple of academic books too (not that her room is short of books, she has over 2000 in that room alone
). In the BL she saw one she'd been thinking about buying and it conformed her opinion that it'd be worthwhile to get if less than full price, and saw two further ones that will teach her about professional archiving.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: Cuz you love cats
Richard, my total pleasure that your daughter had such a lovely day. Everyone deserves warm/fuzzy from time to time. Speaking of books, I have recently acquired from the BL the catalogue for the Anglo-Saxon exhibition, which I was unable to attend. Worth Every Penny.
