Good thing you caught the problem before it became serious.
They say measure twice, cut once. But the number of times I've measured the wrong dimension correctly mustn't be recorded (to save serious embarrassment, you understand ). Fortunately with woodwork I tend to cut oversize & trim at the end, so I'm often - but not always - on the safe side there.
