It's that time of year again! It's time for Stashmas! For those that are new or unfamiliar with it, Stashmas is a holiday that you won't find on a calendar, but it's real (at least to us). We don't all celebrate the same traditional holidays, but we can all come together to celebrate Stashmas. If you've partaken in Stashmas before, please join us again! If you haven't, no worries, consider joining us! It's a time where we can connect, get to know one another (old friends and new friends) better, and share our love of stitching. Besides, it's REALLY fun. So what have you got to lose? Debby (fccs) and I are running Stashmas this year, so here's how it's going to work:
1. All participants must sign up by MIDNIGHT (Gmt) Sunday, SEPTEMBER 30th, so you have a little over two weeks.
2. Participants sign up by posting in this thread (once only, please - and by the end of the sign up period!) stating the following information:
a) User name
b) Location
c) Where you are willing to send to (e.g., UK only, USA only, etc., or anywhere). Postage costs can be high, so take that into account when deciding how far you’ll be able to send. (You are welcome to join us, regardless of any shipping limitations!)
3. All participants must post in the Wish List thread by the end of the sign up period.
4. After the closing date, a send list will be made by Debby and me and posted in the first post of this thread. Each member on the list will send to the next name on the list, with the last person on the list sending to the first person.
5. It is the responsibility of each sender to get the address of his/her recipient by MIDNIGHT (Gmt) Monday, OCTOBER 7th. Anyone who has not given their address to their sender by that time will be assumed to not be taking part and the sender will have a few days to get hold of the address of the next person on the list. If there are any problems with this bit, please get in touch by PM and we will see what we can do.
6. All gifts MUST be posted by Wednesday, NOVEMBER 1st - no exceptions!!! There is little excuse for late sending as you have an entire month to purchase and wrap the gift. Please get proof of postage in case it goes missing in the mail!
7. All senders must post in this thread when they have sent their gift.
8. All recipients must post in this thread when they receive their gift.
9. Open your gifts on DECEMBER 1st, which is Stashmas Day! No peeking!!
Please remember that the price limit for Stashmas is:
£12.50 or equivalent local currency (approximate conversions are below). PLEASE don't go over this amount. We are a very generous group but try and be creative within the confines of the price rather than too generous. Please keep this firmly in mind when you gift from your own stash.
You may, however, add stitched gifts and/or a card to the stash element of your gift if you wish.
So, the pertinent dates are:
Sign up by - Midnight (GMT) September 30th (Monday)
Wish list post made by - Midnight (GMT) September 30th (Monday)
Get address of recipient by - Midnight October 7th (Monday)
Post by - November 1st (Friday)
Open gifts - December 1st (Sunday)
Anyone who defaults on this exchange or the rules thereof will be excluded from future Stashmas exchanges as it's really not fair to disappoint fellow members.
I hope everyone will enjoy the Stashmas Exchange - it's a lot of fun and generates the same excitement the more traditional gift giving holidays do.

Obviously conversion rates differ daily, but please be sensible about it. Please don't list a load of expensive charts you'd like as you'll be disappointed! That said, the kind/count of fabrics you enjoy using, the colors and makes of floss/silks etc, what kind of styles you enjoy or a few charts or kits (within the price limit) you would like would be very helpful to your sender!
