The colours are lovely and your stitching is so beautifully neat and even. Well done.
As for your questions, what I do, is to do the backstitch, then the beads, then gently wash it, roll gently in a towel to blot most of the water out and leave it flat till it's almost dry before placing it face down on a thick towel to press, I used a thicker towel than I usually do so the beads had extra softness to sink in to. When I finished Joan Elliott's The Gardener, I did it this way and where there was metallic thread I placed a piece of linen between the iron and the metallic thread in case the metallic thread melted, ( I used an old handkerchief )I don't know if others do this with metallic thread I just needed the extra reassurance for my own peace of mind. I can't remember if Fall Fairy has metallic thread, something is stirring in the back of my mind about it being around her waist/belt although I may be mistaken.
WOW you are making great progress on this lovely design and it won't be long before it is finished by the looks of it.
I do as Garnet aka Maureen has said, do the backstitching and bead work, wash gently in warm water and when dry put it face down on a towel and iron it. I also tend to put a gentle squeeze of dishwashing liquid into the warm water as the fabric will have absorbed oil from our hands and I like to make sure its all gone. I have not had a problem with ironing metallic threads but then I don't have the iron very hot either. Just use the ordinary setting on the iron if ironing lighter weight items like handkerchiefs etc.
