Re: DMC Thread Questions

This is what the original pockets look like. I spent months looking for a photograph of these specific pockets, eventually I made them using a drawing of these pockets and photographs of other contemporary versions.

Re: DMC Thread Questions
They've come out beautifully, great work
I tried the YouTube link but it says the video is private and I need to sign in -was I too early?

I love yours...quite beautiful and Must be displayed
Well done!!
Re: DMC Thread Questions
The links should be live now, I haven't worked out how to schedule youtube posting yet but I aim to release on there around 10am every monday.
Thank you. I really love them too! They have so much space! This sort of thing can only have existed as long as Stays were worn though because they are so uncomfortable without them! I wear stays so not an issue for me, but they're sadly, probably not going to be making a come back.

Re: DMC Thread Questions
What an informative video! I watched a few snatches of it (am suupposed to be working...) but I'll know where to find it for a more detailed look.
May I ask what set-up you use to record them? People doing the SAL have been asking me for stitch videos, or to show certain techniques, and I wouldn't have a clue where to start! I've got a camera (not a phone, a stand-alone camera) that will take videos but I can't think how to mount it so it takes top-down videos (also my hands are awful but that's a separate, non-technical problem

Re: DMC Thread Questions
Awesome, I'm glad you like it ^_^
I'm using my phone to record, but it would be so much easier with an actual camera, unfortunately my DSLR doesn't take video...maybe an upgrade is in order lol I do however use my DSLRs mini tripod which is a similar model to this with a phone attachment. It has telescopic legs so I can raise and lower it as needed as well as a pan and tilt head, and I just tilt it all the way down. It can flip from portrait to landscape as well, but I find youtube works best with landscape.

Re: DMC Thread Questions
I'm on a budget so "cheap and it works" is good enough for me

Re: DMC Thread Questions
Haha my thinking exactly. I already had my tripod so it cost me about a fiver to get an adapter for my phone and get started. The set up can always improve when you have money if you want it to. I know for a fact one influencer uses exactly the same set up as I do and she has that incentive to upgrade but it works for her.
Re: DMC Thread Questions
These pockets are really great -- and beautifully stitched, of course. Loved the video -- very clear, and your narrative and explanations were excellent, too. (And what's wrong with documentaries? eh?)
Re: DMC Thread Questions
I love a good documentary! I do get eyerolls though when I tell folk I've just watched a good documentary. I have no idea why
I'm glad you liked the video. I'm so out of practice with my embroidery, so the stitches look a bit clumsy to me. But I want to start putting more of it onto my clothing items now because it really does make them look extra special!

Re: DMC Thread Questions
Your embroidery looked lovely to me, and if that's "clumsy", heaven help my poor efforts.
