I like her stuff. And she teaches her courses (not now, obviously) at the Ashmolean in Oxford. Would love to take one of them.

That looks fascinating! I can understand the temptation. Keep us updated on what you decide.

Re: Serinde's 2020 Stitching Adventures 19 March
Well, I did sign up for that course. Why not? We can't go up north for our anniversary (hotel is closed), so as DH said, we suddenly have some extra to spend. Isn't he nice?
Also H&H package arrived today.

Re: Serinde's 2020 Stitching Adventures 19 March
The whole thing has me slightly outside my comfort zone. I swore after the Tapestry of Scotland I'd never work with wool on cloth again. And yet.
Too late now, though. It's in the post!

Challenging is good.
Please, show us when it arrives, Serinde.

When you have stitched a picture, you frame it. What will you do to complete this design? Or will it be part of a set of similar designs framed together? Looking forward to seeing the WIP (and the finish, of course). Happy stitching.

Re: Serinde's 2020 Stitching Adventures 23 March
I have no idea, Lyudmila, how I'll finish it. I'm looking forward to seeing the entire design, for a start.
This could trigger a whole new desire to stitch a bunch of medieval designs I have in my stash... oh, dear!

Oh my goodness that has come out beautifully! I am in awe of people who can "finish" things, and this is a particularly gorgeous one.

There are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe this fabulous work of art. Serinde - once again you leave me almost speechless with the amazing things you do with your wonderful stitching.

That is so beautiful, such a wonderful things to give. Hope you are proud of all the time you have spent making this as it must have taken such a lot of concentration. This really is an outstanding piece of sttich work

Re: Serinde's 2020 Stitching Adventures 25 March
Thank you all.
The stitching wasn't too difficult, although Faby Reilly uses techniques I hadn't encountered before. The construction, on the other hand, took a lot of thought. I kinda sidled up to it, crab-wise.
Even snipping threads in hardanger didn't prepare me for the real fear that I'd get it Utterly And Totally Wrong and RUIN IT. The last seam up the side is, shall we say, a bit rough and ready... But I'm pleased with it. More than pleased, actually; happy.

Re: Serinde's 2020 Stitching Adventures 25 March
That is absolutely exquisite. A really refreshing piece rather than the usual flat stitching. I love it.
