Have you ever found that justifications come much more easily for things you were going to do anyway?
And much harder to find justifications for things you don't want to do, even though you know you need to.

Very profound, Richard. This may be why I can find plenty of justification for sitting in our sunny garden (I was proofreading a friend's thesis), and not so much for doing the actual gardening

What do you mean it's not stitching necessities - of course it is! Glad you'll be OK for a couple of months :-)

I have been getting an indecent amount of great stuff lately :-) - by the way, MIL's birthday money has been diverted from crewel wools (which are a Mabel's Fancies expense) to some kits which are just fun and which happened to add up to just about the right amount. Anyway, I can't remember which of the things I've posted already so apologies if there are duplicates but I think these are all new. There's a bit more detail about all the purchases on FoF.

Now Mabel. That's sooo unfair. I went and looked at those websites. Came away unscathed only because I purchased an e-book from Jessica Grimm on long-armed cross stitch. Whew!

Well that's brightened up a drizzly Day...

Praise for a company called The Book Depository! :king: Good Prices, postage included and faster than predicted Delivery even in these difficult times! :whoop: :whoop:

That's good. Have used them a few times myself & never had problems.

Another I regularly use is Postscript (https://www.psbooks.co.uk/) who have an eclectic range of books that's not as wide as the Book Depository, however we get one every other month or so from them.

Enjoy your new book Wendy - what's the first thing you'll stitch from it :-) ?

PostScript's selection can be decidedly quirky and idiosyncratic; and I found tomy cost that if you want something you have to get it when you get the catalogue and not dally, as many of them are end of line.

Absolutely delightful stash Mabel! Totally essential for an artist to have the right material to create wonderful embroidery.

Wendy, I love the delicate flowers on the book cover. Great buy!

About tea, I am always amazed how much a cup of tea always makes one feel better. Good to know that you will not be stranded in France without proper tea :D

That reminded me of an old and silly joke - Why won't Marxists drink loose leaf tea? Because proper tea is theft....

Lovely stuff Mabel :D

Looking forward to seeing what you stitch Wendy. I have one or two of the designs traced but not transferred to fabric yet.

Can't wait to see your progress on these flowers, Wendy!

@Mabel, I had to finally read the "joke" out loud to get it. Getting slow, I think, in my old age.
