Can someone help me with Pattern Maker XSD files

Post by richardandtracy »

I have had a lady ask me how to convert the pdf output of BlendThreads to Pattern Maker XSD format so she can use it in her Cross Stitch Saga stitching tracker for her apple mobile device.

It strikes me that it might be best to simply output direct to Pattern Maker XSD format rather than have a conversion. BUT I have run into a problem. There is not enough detail on-line as to what the XSD format is in relation to Pattern Maker.

According to what I see on-line, it should be a text file based on the XML format with specific modifiers to define things like the thread colours, glyphs, then the stitch locations. So, I have searched for XSD files & can't find any that are in both PDF and xsd format so I can reverse engineer the format so I can create XSD files in BlendThreads. I hope it's NOT a binary format that simply happens to share a file extension with a text format, because if it is, I won't be able to help the lady, and I'd like to.

So, is it possible to ask someone who owns Pattern Maker to convert the image below, convert it to DMC Colours, and save it as both XSD and PDF files, so I can cross reference the two and hopefully reverse engineer the format.

It would have the benefit that the two programs might be able to talk to each other and that is rarely a bad thing as most programs have strong & weak points, and if it's possible to move between the two applications we might be able to overcome the weak points of each.

Richard.

Sorry, Richard. I use MacStitch (on occasion); good luck, though.

Thanks Serinde. Looking a bit more on the web, it's actually quite unusual for people to be sharing these xsd files for free. Really am beginning to fear they are a proprietary binary format.
