We have quite a few Tawney Owls around us, and I enjoy listening to them converse.

Re: Podolyanka's Finishes 2020
Nancy, I meant the voices I have heard - of the Eurasian eagle-owl (in Latin- bubo-bubo). I heard them in the Carpathians. If I had not had 30 schoolchildren and 3 teachers around, I would have been scared to death. I did realize it was just a bird talking to himself or some neighbour, but his "laughter" could freeze one's blood in veins.

We have a Scops Owl in the woods behind us. His call is a high pitched 'peep peep'
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scops_owl
I have some hearing loss so when D/H says the owl is calling I have to put my head out of the window to hear it....as it calls at our bed-time I'm not so inclined to do so!!

Re: Podolyanka's Finishes 2020
The oddest owl I have ever heard was in the Kakadu in Australia (where some of Crocodile Dundee was filmed). It was the 'Barking Owl' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barking_owl , and it sounded like someone saying the words 'Woof, Woof'. It was so silly that Tracy & I burst out laughing first time we heard it. We eventually saw it on a branch on the edge of the campsite clearing we were in. Not huge, but very funny.

Richard.

" It is always Tea Time " from Merejka, which Sally stitched was a lovely design. Looking forward to the updates on this new project, Lyudmila.
The little owl is very cute.
I am off checking the different sounds that owls make now on You Tube.....

What a lovely piece this is and looks like you are making good progress! Owls are such fascinating birds. We used to take a lot of walks in the National Forest near my house and I can't count the amount of times that we would walk by a very still owl on a branch barely about our heads and almost miss it. Sometimes we would miss it until it would swoop down and fly away. Which means we probably missed so many many more.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an owl in the wild, but I sure do love your little guy.

Merejka's stitchiery is nowhere near as bad as these Hannah Dale ones. I am very unlikely ever to do another one of Hannah Dale's ones and if that is the case 1 or 2 might be up for grabs.
Lyudmula, you have done that in record time and it is absolutely beautiful and oh so neatly stitched. Well Done.

Thank you, Sally, there is a hectare of backstitch ahead, but as Scarlet said, "I will think about this tomorrow".

As the saying goes, Don't have 100 roubles, have (here I will paraphrase a little) a decent editor. My editor has just rescued my poor owls. Now they look like a WIP, not like victims of a hurricane, right?

They look really awesome and so life like too, Well done Lyudmyla. Is that the 2nd owl one done? If so you are amazing to have done the 2 of them in so short a time.

Re: Podolyanka's Finishes 2020
This is the crossstitching on the first end of the tablerunner done. I started the second end- "t's Always Tea Time" with squirrels, on Saturday, as it was gloomy and I could not backstitch as I need sunshine for that job. The squirrels so far are driving me crazy with confetti-like areas, but I will live. Merejka's charts can turn off even the most patient stitcher and its greatest fan, but the result is always guaranteed, so I am pressing on.

They are both beautiful designs. You stitched them very quickly too. I really love the Merejka designs and the Luca S designs. The colours are wonderful.
Your stitching is as beautiful as always, Lyudmila.
