Ha! Somewhere on this site there's a whole thread about the Great Tapestry. A stitch by stitch account, by gum. Strathendrick branch of the EG (which is my branch, although I didn't participate in this piece) is responsible for the double width piece called An Ataireachd Ard (the ceaseless surge of the sea) which is the picture at the start of the article. It is, as I've said to WW, impossible to understand it's beauty and the skill of the stitchers in a photo. A real show stopper.
Congratulations, Serinde. It is really a great project. I wish the same Merejka designed and organized something like this about our history. Thank you for sharing the article with us, Wendy.
I remember following your posts when you were working on this Serinde and it was fascinating. I think the tapestry is soooo special and being a part of it must be an awesome feeling. One day, if we ever get past all the current trials and tribulations we are going through, I would so love to be a part of such an endeavor. It would be so unifying.
