I took a beginners quilting class back in 2011 and decided it was time to get the quilt stuff out and try to make some progress on it. I finished making the blocks, sewed them together in rows of six blocks, and now I’m sewing the rows together. I’ve done four with four left. I’m struggling with getting the seams/corners to match and I’ve become pretty good friends with my seam ripper.
Here’s what it looks like so far.

Debby, I am not a quilter, but my granny could do it and my best friend is great at it. So, as a person who did see a piece or two of nice quilting, I am telling you that your work so far looks quite professional.
I made a quilt...my first and last!!
Couldn't get my head around cutting up fabric into shapes then stitching it all back together!
I bought some Kaffe Fasset fabric strips and made my quilt but my friend backed it and finished it off for me!
I went to the American Museum in Bath some years back.
There were some Incredible detailed quilts there made by early pioneers in the U.S
Debby that is awesome and I love the designs and colours of the fabrics. Your efforts to get it all matched - & believe I know about that - have certainly paid off with a magnificent quilt top.
But oh why did you have to post it right now??? I have got to finish Stuffy and I had an argument with myself yesterday that I couldn't get the cot quilt fabric out until I had finished redoing the b/s on the hands and feet.
Now all I wanna do for the rest of today is quilt. Oh well the sooner stuffy is done the sooner I can get at the quilting for a little while.

I have never made a quilt, but love them and am very impressed by those of you who are able to put them together. I think yours looks fantastic and I am looking forward to seeing your finishing this. Is it intended as a gift? or are you going to have it as a cozy blanket during those cold and snowy Colorado winters? Perfect for snuggling with Jackson.

I finished the main part of the quilt top. I have to go to a fabric store and try to find a black fabric to match the black in the blocks. The black will go around all four sides, and then there will be another border all around with the dragonfly fabric. I also need fabric for the binding and backing. It’d be nice if I can find all at once as I am not a fan of going into stores right now more than necessary.

I love your quilt so far, the colours are lovely and go together so well, i have recently taken up quilting and find colour combinations are by far the hardest thing to decide upon, well done x
Well done Debby it looks really fantastic. I like the choice of the added fabrics too which will finish it off just right. Hope you find all the fabrics in one place.

Very wise! I am sure that you have one or two projects in the pipeline to keep you busy meanwhile....
