Good Morning All. I thought I had better tell you that I will be missing from the Forum for a short while. Tomorrow I am moving into an Arcare Aged Peoples Home at Stoney Creek - about 25 minutes down the motorway from my current home. I decided it was time I moved and this is a logical step in growing older as at 85 I find my memory is not as good as it used to be and I am getting slower and slower.
So after a hunt we have settled on the Stoney Creek Home and I am looking forward to it. It will take some time to get my big room all set up, including having my computer and various other pieces of needed machinery. Thank goodness that my SIL Phil is a computer engineer and will be doing the setting up in a day or so when he can get a few hours off a very busy workplace and get me connected again.
In the meantime you all take care now and don't get up to too much mischief.

Thanks for letting us know so we won’t worry. I hope you find lots of friends in your new home (of course you will), but not so many that you forget us.

Sonds like a good move - and yes, how lucky that you have your SIL Phil!
I hope it all goes smoothly Sally, and that your new place will soon be Home to you
More wishes of Good Luck moving into your new home. I'm sure that you are going to find lots of new friends so make sure once you are settled you get right back in with us. And thank you so much for letting us know. The hardest thing (actually the only really hard thing) about the forum is when members leave and we don't often know why. Looking forward to hearing from you as soon as you are settled in.

Pleased to see you posting again this morning Sally
How did the move go?

My thoughts exactly. Looks like the move was fairly quickly. Hope you are settled in and enjoying your new home.

It is only a partial move as I have 4 weeks 'respite care' before I need to make a decision on whether to stay or go home and restart aged care in 12 months or so. After seeing many poor souls totally relient on others to get anywhere I realise how blest I am to be mobile and have most of my senses intact.
I must admit though it is wonderful to be away from Jenny & Phil plus very young dogs for a little while. I realised the other day it is over 2 years since I had a holiday away thanks to the pandemic - which is still very evident in our lives.
Thank you all for your support and rest assured I am not rushing into any long term decisions for a couple of weeks at least.
Keep stitching dear friends, I will have mine out in a day or so.

I’m glad you’re back and that you’re taking time making what is a very important decision. It does sound as though you need a break from your usual routine (Jenny, Phil, dogs). Sometimes no matter how much we love or are loved by someone, we do need a little time to ourselves. Get your stitching out and enjoy, and take care of you.
