Thank you Ladies and especially Wendy for joining us, its nearly there :D

Just to report I have finished a second packet of the Mauve Mill Hill Petite glass beads. This time I remembered to clean off my black bead mat using boiling water before I poured the packet of beads onto it. It gets really sticky when you wash it with boiling water but then you have to work out how to dry it again without the fibres of whatever you dried it with sticking all over it  In the end I have had to air dry it.

There is still a little gap left in the middle:

Then I have no excuses I have to get on with the scales

I loved it without all the stitched and beaded background but it is fabulous with it. Brilliant.

Thank you ladies.

I have just finished putting on the last bead :whoop: That was 2 1/2 packets of mauve beads and about 1/4 of a packet of the gold. Those can now move over to be used on other pieces and of course none of them are the right colour to go on my TW Four Fairies

There were a few errors on the chart for the bead placement and a few incorrectly placed lines for the Latticework.

On to the scales

Here am I feeling like I am nearly there as I am over half way through these horrible scales and I have just realised I have missed off the gold beads within the corner Weaving/knotwork patterns

And of course I have put all the beading tools away

Oops!

Just have to get 'em out again!

But at least you're over halfway on those scales so not all bad.

Yeah, one scale at a time will see them done.

Glad you spotted the missed beads... I've done that and only found out when the piece was off the frame. Once actually at the framers... not good!

Another reason why I don't like beading. But I admit it adds another layer of absolute beauty to this piece. I will miss the updates when you are finished.

Not long now :D This is what the corners with the beads should look like:

Image

I'll treat myself and do the other top corner before continuing on the scales but I cannot scroll up to do the beads on the bottom two corners as the bottom is carefully set up with a piece of foam protecting the piece and I would prefer not to have to fiddle around with protecting the top and then the bottom again

Jo

P.S. I can see a bead that is a bit narrower than the others

I am just rounding the last bend with the scales :tizzy:

Image

Then I will have to fault find, here is one:

Image

Can't see it. No they are difficult to spot. Here it is

Image

What has happened is where I am using the single strand of blending filament the needle has caught one of the original stitches on the way through and it has broken. You can't see it until about 10 minutes later when the end of the strand sticks out :tantrum: Then I have to fix it. I also will have to trim off all those bits of the nylon support that has also broken and is mucking up the finish

I agree. Frustrating for sure, but incredibly beautiful. This is a dragon which will clearly bring you good luck!
