Re: 3D Rendering
Ho hum. Over the weekend a kind informant told me some of my freebies appear to being sold on an adult content site by a vendor. Over the weekend I had the rather unpleasant job of collecting evidence and putting forward a case as to why my it was my copyright content and why it should not be sold by another user. That's now in the hands of the Digital Millennium Copyright Agreement department at the adult site where the stuff was being sold. I hope that they will come through at some point & remove the material.
In some ways I am surprised that it's taken so long for this to happen. There have been in excess of 300,000 downloads of my 200-odd freebies & it has taken, oh, nearly 3 years for someone to decide to take a shortcut and sell my stuff instead of bothering to create their own.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: 3D Rendering
Please keep us updated on this, Richard. I'm not surprised either that this has happened to you, and am glad you are taking action, but at the same time it is disappointing to hear. Much the same with the lack of respect for cross stitch pattern copyright issues. I had never thought about it before joining the forum and it was never an issue because I have so few friends who stitch. The only positive (if that is a positive) is that this shows how amazing your 3D photos are that people are willing to pay for them.

Re: 3D Rendering
Debby, I agree, they can be. And sometimes people take short cuts believing that they won't be found out.
I have a little news on this. The offending item has been removed from sale. I assume it's pending further investigation, though I have received no communications from the store. It's good to see that they appear to be following their own published procedures.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: 3D Rendering
Glad to hear some action has been taken. The idea of your lovely 3-d renderings being used in this way is, well, revolting. Not surprising, alas.

Re: 3D Rendering
my thoughts exactly. Using someone else's stuff to make money is obnoxious in any setting, but this is one step beyond that!Serinde wrote: Tue May 16, 2023 9:34 am Glad to hear some action has been taken. Re: 3D Rendering
The set on the adult site has been re-issued, but without my poses included.
As far as I am concerned, this slightly unpleasant issue is closed. I have had no reply from the copyright department of the site, but feel that their actions speak louder than words on this, and everything I asked for has occurred. Must admit that I'm pleasantly amazed at the result.
Regards,
Richard

Glad they are taking it seriously. Both action and words would have been nice, but I agree that action without words is better than vice versa!

Re: 3D Rendering
The weather has been a bit warm, and Tracy & I have been thinking of going out in our van to go for some cool walks in some local woods. Also, June is the anniversary of when we had to sell our Mercedes Sprinter home-converted motorhome due to severe rust (2016), so I've been remembering that a bit too, particularly reminded because our Perodua Kenari is in the same state now.
When I saw a 3d model of a more recent version of a Merc Sprinter in a sale, I couldn't resist, especially as the model is unusual in that it has windows down the side just like the ones I fitted. The first image that popped into my mind was climbing back in the van after a nice walk through some woods. Very mundane, I know, but it did take my mind off the 743 page/300Mb spacecraft transport container handbook I had been working on up until then.

Regards,
Richard

I feel cooler just looking at that! Glad it helped you take a break from work which sounds quite wearying.

Re: 3D Rendering
I have a weakness for one character in particular.
Just to relax for my first weekend off for a while, I rendered the image below using a church cloister model that was given away as a freebie last Christmas.

Regards,
Richard
