So I use the bobbin storage system. Initially I used the card bobbins, but they fall to bits with use. So I switched to the plastic bobbins and used the pre printed number stickers... They fell off, so I used a marker and that rubs off.
I have so many random un numbered bobbins now. Any tips for keeping numbers on the plastic bobbins?

Re: Stupid bobbins
Not the person to ask. I hate plastic bobbins. The threads never stay put! I’m going to use them for weaving bobbins on my little loom and see if they shape up.
Re: Stupid bobbins
I use the stickers on the disposable card bobbins and a permanent marker (Sharpie) on the plastic ones.
Having treated myself to a DMC box I am now intending to use the skeins as is (pull-skeins) and wind the thread remnants on bobbins only when the skeins fall apart and threaten to loose their tabs.

Re: Stupid bobbins
I gave up on plastic bobbins. Like Serindë mentioned, I couldn’t get the end of the floss to stay in the little slot. Stickers wouldn’t adhere and my Sharpie didn’t take well to the plastic. I went back to the light cardboard ones - to the point of winding from the plastic to the cardboard. That’s how much I disliked them.

Re: Stupid bobbins
I have four types of plastic bobbins and they are all different:
The cheap Chinese bobbins do not hold the threads in their slots. (I have thick transparent and thinner white Chinese ones. ). The white Taiwanese bobbins do hold the threads well. All of these bobbins seem to have traces of releasing agent on the plastic which will not help the stickies or pen stay put.
I have some white DMC bobbins, the slots of which do hold the threads and the DMC labels do seem to stay put.
The hundreds of card board ones all hold the threads in their slots and however much I dislike them I will never have to buy any more bobbins...

Re: Stupid bobbins
Angel, perhaps try to double up your paper bobbins? I did that once by accident, and that bobbin will last through a nuclear attack.
Re: Stupid bobbins
I use a fine tip sharpie on the plastic ones.
I’ve only once found one rubbing off, so rewrote before it completely rubbed off.
