Apparently I never shared Lolly Claus, the companion piece to Candy Claus (both by Satsuma Street). I finished her in September (I think).

I finished the last of my kits from my trip to Scotland last year. Time to go back and get more. :-) This is Tartan Thistles from Textile Heritage. It’s supposed to be a scissor keep but I’m going to display it on a canvas. I’ll straighten out the long stitches when I mount it to the canvas. They got a bit wonky with handling

Textile Heritage does lovely kits. This looks perfect, and particularly like the personalisation. Well done! (Yes, you'll need to come back for more!)

Another little finish. This is Yellow Swallowtail by Mill Hill. The beads sparkle more in person.

And clever use of beads, really enhances it even in the photogrpah, it must look even better in real life!

How beautiful is this! I can imagine how sparkly it is, made all in beads. Glorious. Will you have an entire flutter of butterflies when you're done or is this a one-off?

Now that I’ve seen how pretty they are I would like to do more.

Also, this magnetic frame for stitching on perforated paper is a game changer. It’s easier to hold and no more snagging the floss on the paper edges.

that's brilliant! It would work as a display frame as well, or is it too expensive to use only once?

Mabel, I thought the same thing, especially for seasonal designs that can be easily switched out. They are a little pricey but frames in general can be pricey so….

Serinde, I got them on Etsy (search for magnetic frames). I think I paid about $30 USD each. Totally worth it!!

This one got to me in three days (Minnesota to Colorado) so I bet they have distributors in other countries.

:thinks: If you were using them for sewing what you need is two outer frames with some neodymium magnets inserted into them.

How about buying 4 of those thick cardboard picture frame mats and some of the thinnish neodymium magnets. On two of them use a hole punch to make holes to poke the magnets into, making sure the holes line up. Using one holed frame stick it to the non holed frame, with the magnets in the holes. I am not sure what would be needed to keep the magnets in place: in wood work if you want a permanent bond you use 5 minute epoxy, so that would work, otherwise double sided tape might. Making sure the magnets are all the same way round before sticking on. Then make a second with the magnets the other way round. face them together, with the magnets inside and you are away.

Nothing like as pretty as Debby's the laser cut wood one and lets be honest wood always feels nice in the hands.

And another little guy is finished. This is Dogs Leave Paw Prints by Lizzie*Kate. It came with a little silver bone to attach, but I have some paw print buttons on the way in case I like those better.
