Great design! Love the gold, goes very well with it My next project uses the filaments quite abit which i'm finding abit daunting. Before I joined the forum I didn't even know what I was suppose to do with it I sorta thought the instructions were wrong heh...
And Norman, I'm the type of stitcher that feels lost without a frame/hoop I have a 4" wooden hoop for my small projects like cards or freebie stitching with magazines

Whenever I work with metallics they tend to be blending filaments, either on their own, over the top of existing stitches, or blended, and on the whole they have been quite well-behaved. I have never used thread heaven but I would think that using that would make them as easy to work with as your other metallics.
I used a white blending filament with bright white stranded cotton for the needlecase I'm doing at the moment, and the effect is lovely, a sort of very subtle rainbow iridescence (which unfortunately doesn't show up in the pictures) which will look great on your dragonfly's wings too!

Out of interest, is the use of blending filament part of the original chart, or somthing that you've decided to add yourself??
I'm interested in trying metallics and blending etc, but none of the charts I've had a look at so far have included them.
I dont know if its cheaper or anything, but my local store always has a 40% off coupon every week in the paper, i can get the kit for around 15 USD (which i think is close to 7ish pounds right?)... if you think it might be cheaper that way, I'd be glad to get it and send it. I think shipping would be ~5-10 USD, so you might save a little money that way if you'd like I always see it in stock!

MANY thanks for the offer, although I've got enough to keep me busy for a little while... but I'll keep you in mind while I'm checking out some local prices.
MANY THANKS!!
I haven't caught this thread before and am really glad I have now - what a great design. The gold really gives it zing. I will be looking forward to keeping up with how you get on with it.
