Krissy wrote:Thanks! I started painting them because I love the decorated frames but I always had a hard time finding one in stores that I liked. So I just started painting them and decorating them myself. If I knew of an online store that sold them I'd give you the URL but I've had no luck finding one.
Thank you for looking anyhow :D Can I ask, do you just buy plain white wooden frames and then just paint them? I was just curious as to whether the paint applies well or whether you have to put loads of coats on if its a different colour, or if the surface of the frame doesn't paint well.. :thinks:

I'm sure someday I will find the perfect shop for me to buy frames :D

This is one I am going to have the kids paint for my Mom for Christmas for the "grandma" cross stitch I am going to do for her. This is how they look when I buy them (of course not all this same size and everything)

They are unfinished wooden frames. Some have that back some have the thing that holds them up when put on a shelf or something. Two or three of the craft stores around here sale them. They have no paint on them at all, I sand them down so they are smooth and add acrylic paint and stickers, rub-ons, or whatever I decide to use. Then when it looks like I want it I use a satin or matte sealer to keep it safe from humidity or anything and so the dust easily wipes off of them. The sealer I use is an outside sealer so it will keep it safe from anything.

Thank you for the tip, I have seen these in our craft stores, I might try painting one.
