Hello from Colombo
Hi everybody
I found this forum today while surfing and am glad to be a member of it now. I have been cross stitching for the lat 20 years. I did not realise that there are so many interested in cross stitch all over the world and am glad to be one of them.
Happy cross stitching

Hello Nisa, and welcome to the forum. Yes, there are people from all over the world here (I'm from Holland myself, though in the UK now) and we all love cross stitch! And chatting. And chocolate. And stash collecting. And seeing progress pictures of other people's projects. And giving advice, whether or not it was asked for
. In fact, we've got quite a lot in common! Hope you'll enjoy your visits here.

Welcome! Your roses are beautiful! I did a wedding project that had roses on it, and once you added the backstitch, they were gorgeous!

Welcome! I love your roses, too - and I looked further into your blog and found this which I MUST share with everyone here! :-
A dieter’ prayer for the holidays:
Lord, grant me the strength that I may not fall
Into the clutches of cholesterol.
At polyunsaturates, I’ll never mutter,
For the road to hell is paved with butter.
And cake is cursed and cream is awful
And Satan is hiding in every waffle.
Beelzebub is a chocolate drop
And Lucifer is a lollipop.
Teach me the evils of hollandaise,
Of pasta and gobs of mayonnaise.
And crisp fried chicken from the South—
Lord if you love me shut my mouth.
-Quoted by Steven A Pickert, M D, in Organic Gardening.

Hello from the West of Scotland, glad you found the forum.
Your roses are lovely, and the stylised tulips on the cloth are bright and cheery.
I visited your beautiful island many years ago -- 1983 -- and was stunned by its beauty and the loveliness of her peoples. Not to mention Dimbula tea, which it is now possible to buy in the UK as a non-blended variety. Yum!

Re: Hello from Colombo
I was half expecting a dishevelled detective who would say something, walk away and then turn back with a "just one more thing..." kinda question. But I'm glad I was wrong.
Welcome to the boards, and I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Oh! what a warm welcome. Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. At the moment I am going slow on my projects 'cos of work. What with my transcription and housework which sometimes take a major part of my time. Hope to exchange views and chat with some. Thanks to all who welcomed me.
