Thank you! :D

I think I might do some more work on the half crosses of the background mountain next, to see if I can finish off that bit. But not tomorrow, because I am out all day. Busy Friday, too, and over the weekend, so I'm hoping to get a fair bit done Thursday. We'll see how it goes. It's a bit fraught round here, sorting out funeral stuff.

Yes, it must be a busy time for you right now, but even so, you've made great progress on this lovely piece!
Well done.

That is a beautiful picture. The soft colors are very effective for the design. Well done.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone, both regarding the project and the present family upset. :)
I was out all day from 9.40am to 3.30pm, collecting Cause of Death cert from his doctor (and having to wait while she finished with a patient so she could redo it because both his names were incorrectly spelled!), taking it to Registrar (amazingly quick! No wait at all!), waiting in cafe for my oldest daughter, then going to funeral director to start the ball rolling (as it were), and trying to find out when his finances would be released to actually pay for the funeral, 'cause they won't do anything until they have a deposit... And we still have to discuss with his daughter from his first marriage what she wants at the funeral. Looks like it'll be the end of the month before the actual funeral takes place.

Anyway... I did a little bit of stitching while I watched Britains Best Dish and Eggheads, but not enough to take another pic yet. :)

Only just found this post, Cindy - sorry not to reply sooner. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts.

The funeral will now be in about 2 weeks, maybe less. The money is on the way through and should be in my older daughter's account in the next few days, so we can go ahead with the arrangements.

And having completed my christmas stitching - apart from cards - I can now get back to this project! :D

I am sorry to hear your sad news! I do admire your stitching. I have a book with TW designs in and I'm not too sure if I am brave enough yet. Looking good so far and don't worry how much you do before taking piccys we all love progress however much it is!

Thank you, Nettie. :)

Why not try a small one? TW has designed some really lovely small pics, and they are by no means all on small-count fabric! Some are on 14ct aida, which are not too daunting at all! :D

Even TW small pics have a great detail in different designs but love the results. i'm into bears and people i do lighthouses for mum and tool things for my dad i have to create his stitching sometimes just what hits me at the time. so try a TW design you'll be surprised how easy it is to do...

Here we are - a bit more done; background mountain and castle now complete except for backstitching. Sorry the image is a bit fuzzy - it's a good camera, but I'm not a good photographer! I need to read the instructions a bit more... :
