Thanks. What you can't see very clearly is all the gold thread (DMC
) which makes up the flower and leaf stems, or the three (3!) different sorts of beads... which made it rather a trial to do. Glad it's done, and am really pleased with the results.

When you said 'Venice' I thought it was the Rialto bridge. This is wonderful and very different. Clever girl!!

Re: Venice finally finished
Just had a peek - another lovely work from Serinde's needles!! You are so talented.
It's a satisfying feeling to get projects completed well, isn't it? You are entitled to feel pleased with it!

A UFO is an Unfinished Object.

Re: Venice finally finished
What a wonderful design, straight out of one of those medieval Books of Hours -- if only the monks had known about beads and DMC gold threads
. Seriously now, this is a great piece, and it must have been quite challenging, but gosh it's worth it!
As I do calligraphy as well this really appeals to me -- may I ask where you found thedesign?

Re: Venice finally finished
Mabel, this is a DMC design probably from about 1998 (
), from their 'ultimate' collection, specifically the Bodleian Library Collection. The code appears to be PC134, although I think you might have trouble finding it nowadays.
I think you might be able to track down the actual MSS if you go to the Bodleian online... not sure about the alphabet, though, which I'm pretty sure is an added extra.

You have done beautifully on this, Serinde. The gold does accent it. Your work is all stunning.
