I think there are some kids who need to be talked to about what is and what is not allowed. It might seem cute now but one day it is going to be something that can't be replaced with out a large expense and some tears. My kids knew that mom's stitching was off limits along with a few other special items. If they wanted to cut or stitch or knot they had a basket that was theirs to do what ever they wanted. Made for a much easier time in this house.

I figured out why I ran out of them, it involved a certain three year old little girl and her joy of cutting things with my scissors.
Little 3yr-olds are so.... cute? Is that the word I'm searching for....?

Yeah, my two know that my stitching is a "no touch", and my daughter has gotten a lot better. At least she's not taking all of the needles and threads out of my needle organizer. I just don't let her cut with scissors too much right now, so when the mood strikes.....

This is a recent thing with my daughter. She's not destructive and she knows to take care of things. She just wants to help Mommy and is curious. Sometimes it takes some time to get the point across and I'm never really hard on my kids when it comes to discipline. Besides, my kids are good kids, I can walk into WalMart or Toys R Us, walk them through the toy aisle and leave with out a toy and they don't throw fits. They will point out toys they like or would like to have but when I say no, it's dropped. People are always walking up to me and commenting on how well behaived they are. My kids don't run around the stores, they don't scream and yell in public, they are well behaived kids. When they are told to do something (in public or at home) they do it. Sometimes it takes me telling them a couple of times but it's just part of them being kids.

Yes, my lovely fabrics from Silkweaver!!!

I got 3 small pieces of 28ct Jazlyn from their Odds & Ends page, and 2 pieces of hand-dyed opalescent 32ct Jazlyn -- it feels lovely and soft and it looks incredible! The sparkle is beautiful, and the colours are gorgeous, one is a pinky-orangy-yellowy mix, and one is all blues and lilacs and purples. Can't wait to find just the right design for them!

9 skeins of varigated floss made by Designs for the Needle. I've never heard of them before, but got them cheap off ebay, and I've been looking for a black/grey varigated that was in the set for a gift for son's teacher.
