QS Snow Family (HAED) - kimkat_tkl FINISHED!!

Post by kimkat_tkl »

I thought that I would start a new SAL thread just for this one.

Here is what the finished design looks like:
Image

Details:
185 x 262 stitches (9 pages of pattern)
Stitched 1 over 1 on 25ct Blue Lugana
90 colours

I started stitching this on Friday night (I already had the fabric gridded) and as of this morning I had 3.41% finished (1655 of 48470 stitches).

I think that it helps that there are large areas of just the one colour and that I took Monday off work (as a precaution, I knew I was going out partying and drinking Sunday night) and so spent most of yesterday stitching.

kimkat - I understand about the gridding but what are the long pink threads where you have started stitching - if you don't mind me asking.

PS. Fantastic progress - well done :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

The long pink threads are actually the gridding I have removed from the area I have stitched already - I was finding that my stitching was slowing down when I was trying to stitch around it so have decided that I will remove it as I am going.

Looking at the picture I wouldn't figure there were 90 colors in it? I think the one I got with 50 colors was bad. How long do you think it will take you?

Well you may not get another pic until next week (I have to bring my stitching to work to use the work camera) but I got another 700 stitches done last night (1.5%)

I'm not exactly sure how long it will take me - it's seem to be going really fast at the moment because I am not chopping and changing colours but that is because the majority of the sky seems to be just 3 colours (I stitched a row last night that was 88 stitches long! ) but that may change when I start the snowmen.

Unfortunately this artist has been retired - I was lucky enough to find the pattern on another online store just after she was retired but I'm not sure whether you would be able to get it now... :thinks:
