:applesauce: This is sooooo beautiful. I've never done any blackwork, but am rethinking that now. Faith's idea of leaving it in the hoop as a frame is a good one. It looks perfect in that. Great progress and great stitching. :applesauce:

Thanks everyone! I had thought about leaving it in the hoop, but there's supposed to be a rectangular border stitched around it. But I think I might ask my stepmom, whom it is for, if she'd rather it without the border and have it framed in the purple hoop, or if she wants the border and it framed in an 8x10/10x12 frame.

I highly recommend giving blackwork a try, Carole. Or any of you that have put it off. :)

Beautiful! And it does look great in that hoop. :) That would save you some stitching too.

Thanks!

Well, I have decided to forgo the border, so I'm getting pretty close to done. I've got a bit of backstitch left on the parasol and then the butterfly to stitch and then the beading. I expect to finish it today.

I still need to do the beading, but it is otherwise done.

Image

I can't do the beading until later when I can get one of those wire needle threaders that will squish down so I can use my beading needle. And I need to get the right kind of thread for it, which I thought I had, but I didn't. So I'll be grabbing those later when I go to pick up the new Kingdom Hearts game that I pre-ordered since Walmart is right next door to the Game Stop I am heading to.

And then the final picture of this will probably be the last stitching update from me for a couple days while I play my new game.

Congratulations!! Wow, she is gorgeous. I really love the blue.

Have fun with Kingdom Hearts too. I always think about trying those, and I haven't yet.

I'm quite fond of how the blue turned out as well. I think when I am completely finished, I'm going to take a really good pic and send it in with a letter to WOXS. Who knows, maybe the letter will get published. :x:

Tiff, the Kingdom Hearts games are a lot of fun to play. There are, however, quite a lot of games in the series, which can be a bit daunting to get into. If you've got a PS2 though, go ahead and grab a copy of the first Kingdom Hearts game and give that a go. The big problem though is that they've got games on multiple platforms. 3 on the PS2, 2 on the nintendo DS, 1 on the nintendo 3DS (the one that comes out today) and 1 on the PSP. So in order to play all the games you need a PS2, a PSP and a nintendo 3DS as it is backwards compatible with NDS games. But the games are a ton of fun. Especially if you like RPGs and love Disney.

She's beautiful! I love all of the different patchwork designs!

And that's so cool that you have a 3DS! :D I've got one too. I'd like to hear what you think of the new Kingdom Hearts game. I've only played Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, but did enjoy it. I wish the first two Kingdom Hearts games would be re-released for the DS/3DS because I'd love to play those.
