update on my current character. I think most Star Wars fans will be able to guess it. But it's hard for me to determine if enough has been stitched because I already know who it is. (Hope that sentence makes sense :? )

Great progress but nope, not a clue :-) - is that blue background part of the character, or is it, well, background? (And your sentence made perfect sense :-) )

The blue background is just background. This one seems to me to have a bit more than the others I have done so far. The backgrounds are kind of tedious in that they are fairly large and all half stitches so I cut a length of thread from the skein and stitch the background until those threads are used and then return to the main character. Especially good to stitch if I'm pretty involved in the show I'm watching or the book I'm listening to.

Great update and I think your method of stitching the background is a great idea.

Ohhh...my mind was trying to make the blue background part of the character. No wonder I was lost. LOL

It's fun seeing the afghan and its characters develop under your very talented hands.

Another update on Finn. I love stitching these figures but I admit I'm starting to miss stitching my HAEDs a bit. I also have another wedding sampler to do before October (but I'm waiting a while to make sure the couple doesn't split up before the wedding date. I don't think it's wishful thinking on my part, but in all honesty it might be)

Thank you all for your feedback.

Oh Finn (must admit didn't know who he is, now if you mentioned anyone from Lord of the Rings..) is looking great, really lovely work.

I understand reluctance to start a specific project, I was once requested by a Bride and Groom to be to knit them as figures for their wedding, I completed them about a week before they broke up, was left with the figures that I eventually gave to a charity/thrift shop :tantrum:

This will be a stunning Afghan when finished.

Finn looks fabulous! And I understand on the wedding sampler. I stitched a family tree type sampler for a dear friend and finished it right around the time she and her husband divorced. I gave it to her anyway. :-) Another friend's daughters are both in serious relationships, and I told their mom that the guys don't get Christmas stockings until the girls have rings on their fingers...wedding not engagement. I've already stitched stockings for her, her husband, and all three kids. (Side note: Jackie told the girls they don't get to keep their stockings until they are married and settled. Until then the stockings remain with her...and she hangs them every year, whether the kids are home for Christmas or not.)

This is a great afghan! My family and I are all Star Wars fans.
How many more characters do you have left before you finish it?
I hope Han Solo and Chewy will be in it.

Thank you Kitty. I am a real Geek and Star Wars is one of my favorite franchises (add in most of the Star Trek shows and movies,DC and Marvel superheroes, Lord of the Rings, and other assorted Sci fi series)

I have 10 more figures, not including Finn. Not telling who all is included, though it’s usually not a hard guess for fans and even some non fans as well.

Fabulous! So beautifully stitched, so neat and even.

Well done Carole, this is absolutely going to be an heirloom when finished. I'm certain the lucky recipient will treasure this.

I'm glad you have found an update method that works for you.
