I've been working on Peaceable Kingdom and it's almost finished. I just want it done now, 15 years is a long time to be UFO!
I love the Chat Noir picture, it looks amazing
I will learn how to attach photos too, but I'm a bit dense about these things

siti, your rose is looking good. After the progress I made this week, I may not be back next month.

grrr grrr grrr! I was getting so excited about almost finishing when I noticed a problem. The Panda bears tongue is stitch one over from where it should be. This might be do-able if I redesign the backstitching for the mouth but I got so disgusting I just put it away. I now have that problem to fix and that one stitch that I somehow pulled out (only the thread for the first leg of the x so it's under everything). I'm also really disapointed in how I stitched this. It's not as clean and nice as I would like so I'm having doubts about giving it away. Now I'm depressed.

I'm sorry to hear about your panda. I hate it when that happens. I did that once on a kitten I was stitching but it didn't look too odd and no one really noticed.

Oh Pengwenn, that's sooo sad. I do hope you find a way to salvage the project. I love bears...as if nobody could tell
I heard somewhere that the Amish will purposely put a mistake in their work, because they are not perfect...this has helped me when I had to adjust my stitching to look right.

Naughty panda! I think all these frustrations are happening because the panda bear is playful and thinks he's being silly

I remembered why my Chat Noir became a UFO.
It was frustrating, to say the least, with so much ridiculous confetti to fill in (no-one to blame for that, but myself) but at least I could see where the stitches were to go. I finished off the page (minus a few stitches where I didn't have the threads) and started the next page ..... and couldn't see the darned holds!! I guess 28ct is still beyond me at the moment so will be packing it away until I see an optician or super glue two magnifying glasses to my head!!
I've changed my signature to acknowledge this complete and utter failure!!

ali-cat, a completel and utter failure??? it must be bad, I have had a project like that, it had a boarder and a central design, much like my bears now, but they didn't line up right so I had to throw it away. I kept the chart and will do it again one day as I still want it (I was not going to take out that many stitches). You may find yourself doing the same later down the road.
Here is my progress: I got all the cross stitching done (I hate doing quarter stitches on vinyl-weave!!!) I will do the backstitching either next month or when I finish my bears, whichever comes first.

Yes, they will be bookmarks. Thank you. The instructions say to use heavy paper for the backing. What would everyone suggest? I was thinking cardstock or poster board...

I think a lot of our stitchers use felt for the backing on bookmarks

On the 8th of the Month everyone goes back to there regular WIP stitching. This was set-up to encourage members to drag out and dust off any old UFO's they have lurking around. It is an encouragement thread and not everyone joins in and not everyone needs to.
If I have used any terms you are not familiar with you can have a quick peek in the Glossary Terms thread.......
