I haven't been too impressed with the British Cross Stitcher over the last few months, haven't seen the new look here yet but the designs they've been putting out have been so so. Shame really cause they used to be really good.
Reminds me of Quick & Easy. They were great, and then they got into that whole card making thing, and poof!

Mine just came and I have had a quick look through but am saving it (like I usually do) for a bedtime read.
from my quick browse, I think it''s okay, BUT i will reserve my decsion until i have read it fully and also it''s a non xmas issue!! I think all the magazines get a bit boring at xmas regardless of what happens to them...the new year will probably be a better time to make a judgement but I do like the other sewing stuff in it...whic I know most people didn''t but i dont have any sewing magazines and just one sewing book so for me it''s great in that way.

Yeah, I'm not up for the christmas stuff, either, though the gift threads and card designs pack do actually look quite nice. I may even stitch them sometime...
It may be cos there is so much christmas stuff in the new look mag that I took instantly against it. I tend not to buy christmas issues of anything. Apart from the Radio Times!

Okay, I had a read...I think I like it, but I miss the reviewed by you section...I noticed that has gone.
I do like the extra sewing sections because they give me ideas for making my small stuff into gifts, something I sometimes get stuck on. Yes, it does seem more of a mixed sewing and cross stitch magazine rather than just cross stitch but I do like that.
Bit over the christmas stuff but did like the cards in this issue and may stitch a couple of those.
No mention of annual calander??? I wonder if it is coming in the last issue for the year as not mentioned in the next issue page.
My subscription runs until August (inclusive) next year, so they still have time to impress me

and to reduce the price or do an overseas subscription special. I am still not happy about the 20 pound price rise in annual subscription for overseas when the mag cost has not increased.
I also like that it is now different from woxs since I get that, I get two different magazines so for me that is a plus.
