32 count over 1 sounds very brave. You are making a wonderful job of it and it is gorgeous.

This is beautiful, such neat stitching! I tried 32 count and failed, even with daylight lamp and everything, it's just too small for me!!
Looking forward to seeing more of your progress!

Louise

Welcome Lauren, pleased to meet you. :D

So you like "working tiny"? You and Mabel should have a chat sometime, she'll happily lead you astray down the path of impossibly high-count fabrics, silk gauze and the like. She's currently working a miniature teatray cloth on 60-count (over 1, naturally).

Anyway, I have coveted Venetian Opulence for some time now, but have resisted as I have more Mirabilia charts than a sane woman can complete in 3 lifetimes, so I shall just pull up the magic bench and watch yours appear instead in all its tiny and perfectly formed-ness.

May I slump down next to you and fan myself to recover? 1 over 32! and crossed stitches (not continental, which I intend to use on my HAED in due course)!

Beautiful work, such gorgeous colours and the small scale really brings out the detail!

I happen to read an article recently about small beads, I remember them showing a bead that was so small that it nearly fitted into the hole of a petite seed bead, so that sounds like the size you need :-) -- mind you, what needle would you use... ?

Anyway, I'll try and find the article, she mentioned some other sizes as well.

Edited:
found it! You can read it here

thank you ladies!

I cant imagine over 1 on 60. I think i would go blind!!! And what kind of thread would you use? I'm already using only one strand and it more than fills the space.

That bead article was really interesting. I knew they made some very very tiny japanese seed beads but I have never seen them THAT small. Of course getting the right colors would be nightmare so for this chart I will stick to stitches. Still very interesting to see what other stitchers are doing.

I hope everyone had a great new year. I have been distracted from my cross stitching this week (while i work on other sewing) but hope to get more time with it soon.

I know i haven't posted since january- but i wanted to show my completed project. The quarter is just for scale. I decided to use french knots in lieu of beads and think it came out pretty well. I didnt use the whisper thread and instead just did half cross stitches. Also- I didnt stitch the fan that is shown in the pattern because I didnt like it. So i left it out :) I think it took focus away from her face....

I enjoy watching all of your projects get completed even if im not posting. Thank you for letting me share...

Ive already moved onto my next chart: roses of sharon by Mirabilia. Over one of course.
