Re: Lauren's First SAL! *Updated Feb 9*

Hello everyone!! Sorry it's been a while since I updated last. Lots of checkups and Dr. appointments to go to, but so far so good. No real answers yet, but at least I'm able to stitch!

Here are the latest pics of the progress:

Image
Page one has been completed!

Image
All of the black and two of the yellow tones on page two have been completed.

I'm still using the gridding, but I'm focusing on completing one color at a time. Doing it block by block just didn't work for me and I kept missing a stich here and there. I also switched to using a fabric gel pen to make the marks instead of using the pencil. I was getting so frustrated with the grids rubbing off! The pen is MUCH better.

Thanks for looking! :D

That's looking great, Lauren! :applesauce: Hope you're feeling better, and that the doctors can come up with what the problem was!

You're doing a fabulous job. Did you put this in a program to get the chart? If so, which one do you use?
I do hope you're feeling better. I'm sure the cross stitching can only be good for your brain function and keeping everthing active and recovering.
All the best. Looking forward to more great updates.

The one I bought is by Clover. It's called "White Marking Pen <Fine>". I only had to go over it once to see the line, but to really make it stand out I went over it two times. You have to let it dry for the markings to show up. I tested it out on the back of this fabric first, let it dry, then washed it out. No problems so far!

Thanks so much! Still waiting on some more tests and specialists, but so far there isn't really any news other than they found a small hole in my heart. They say it wouldn't have been the cause of the problem, but may have helped fascilitate getting the blood clot to my brain.
Stitching has become very rewarding and relaxing to me now. I don't know if it's helped, but I like to think it has! :)

I completely forgot to answer your question last time... I'm so sorry!! I used a website that I found online that offered charts for only $6. I edited and uploaded the picture, chose the amount of stitches/size/# of colors/etc and then printed it out after I paid. It's been pretty good so far, though I do wish I'd chosen a few less colors. If you want the name of the site I can message it to you!

-------------------------
I've been doing some more stitching over the past few days. Completing one color at a time is definitely better for me. The back of my stitching on page 2 looks so much better than the back of page one!
