You know, it just occurred to me earlier this afternoon that I missed the weekly stitching group that meets at my local needlework shop.. That's what I get for confusing days of the week; I kept thinking yesterday was Friday and I keep thinking today that it is Saturday. Guess it'll be another two weeks 'til I get the thread I'm missing (since I won't be going this weekend to stitchy club as we've a family gathering to attend next weekend).

Going to start a new SAL in the meantime for some other projects I'm working on..

Such a beautiful project, made even more special by the memories!

freelady, what a lovely way of putting it, "something handmade with memories sewn in", that's just what stitchers do when they make something especially for a person!

Guess what I did yesterday?? I pulled out this piece again, after FINALLY getting the colors I ran out of. Mom tried to before, but it's an old kit and the number conversions aren't really perfect anymore...so I was able to see for myself which threads would and would not work at the Needlecraft store and get the correct colors. Not too much progress; but I don't remember the last pic I shared with everyone either.

It's also a rather dark picture, but I took late last night, so you'll have to forgive me for that. Hopefully I can take a better one later this afternoon. I'm so pleased with how this has turned out; all I've left to finish is the backstitching and french knots! (I'm doing beads in place of the knots though--can't stand doing them!)
